Hi Alex,

Right now on myiine.com, when you click on FB Send, the image used is the first image of the "article/content", although I have set the {SCOpenGraph image=...} tags for every page of my website. How can I control whether it should show the first picture of the article/content or the {SCOpenGraph image=...} tags. In this case, I don't want it to give priority to the {SCOpenGraph image=...} tags. If I understand it correctly, it's the way it should be.

Please let me know what I need to do.

Thanks for all your great support!

Kaz

Kaz,
Sorry for the delay. Using the {SCOpenGraph image=xyz} tag is the right thing to do. When you set that tag though, it can take Facebook a day or so to 'see' the new tag and whatever was there until then.

You can use the Facebook Debug Tool to test your page and make sure the image is working correct. That usually will update their cached value as well, but the Send button can be a little sluggish to see the update.

If that still isn't doing what you're wanting, let us know the URL of a specific page you've set the {SCOpenGraph image=xyz} tag on and the Send button still isn't using it properly and we can look into it further.

Thanks,
Alex

Quick question kind of having to do with this same topic. Is there a way to set this tag up for the home page somehow? Like anywhere in particular I could add it into Joomla?

If your home page is an article in Joomla, or something else with a text area you can edit, simply add:
{SCOpenGraph image=http://yoursite.com/link-to-image.jpg}
That will be translated by JFBConnect into the appropriate image tag for the page.

If you don't have an area you can do that, you can add a Custom HTML module to display somewhere on the page. If you disable the "Show Title" setting and don't add other text to the output area, other than the tag, it *usually* is completely hidden. That's template specific though.

Hope that gives you some ideas,
Alex

Alex,

myiine.com -> Send button is still showing the white iPhone case, although it should show the picture with the 10 different color iPhone bumpers.
I have done the debug, and it is showing correctly.

To clarify, I have put the {SCOpenGraph image=xyz} tag into a custom html module and placed in the logo position. like that I don't need to go into every article etc. and set it.

Thanks,

Kaz

You have 6 different open graph images specified on that page. The first one (the primary one) is:
myiine.com/images/iine/frontpage-slideshow/image16.png

You duplicate 2 images twice, so it's really 4 unique images set.

Can you let me know the link to the image you are expecting to be used? By default, the first open graph image is the one that will be used, which is what I linked to above.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I am not sure why it is duplicating any of the images.

These are the ones I have set, in exactly this order (the first one, should be the primary one):
myiine.com/images/products/generic-apple...mper-solid-solid.jpg
myiine.com/images/products/generic-apple...olid-transparent.jpg
myiine.com/images/iine/frontpage-slideshow/image16.png
myiine.com/images/iine/facebook/iine-facebook-logo.jpg

Why is it not using the first tag and why is it duplicating two of the pictures?

Thanks,

Kaz

The other tags could be from the Open Graph - Content plugin, 'defaults' that you set in the Open Graph -> Configuration area, or from {SCOpenGraph image=xxx} tags on the page.

Can you check the defaults area for the set images. Then, try disabling the Open Graph content plugin (if enabled) to see if that sets the right priority. Finally, if it seems like there may be extra {SCOpenGraph image=xxx} tags, you can disable the JFBCSystem plugin (temporarily) and on the page, you should be able to see all the tags since the system plugin won't strip them.

Hope that helps narrow some things down,
Alex
