Hi,
I received an email stating that if I renewed before my subscription expired I would get a 20% discount. Just did it and I got $10 off a $99 subscription. That seems to be less than 20%

As noted in the email, "Discount percentage is based off of 6 month pricing."

For the 12 month pricing, there is already a 20% discount built-in: $99 vs 2- 6 months subscriptions, which would be $120. There is an additional renewal discount on 12 months of $10 (another 10%).

The 12 month upgrade/renewal pricing is our best deal as it combines both discounts to save $30, or 25% off the 6-month x2 subscription price of $120.

Hope that helps explain, but if you have any questions, let us know,
Alex

Hi Alex,
The email alerting me to the opportunity wasn't clear on this. I also though you had said that the 20% discount would be taken out at checkout. Which would suggest that the list price was $99.

I'm not looking for any further discount for myself, I just think the promotion needs to be clear for the future.

Thanks.

Peter,
Thanks for all your feedback. We definitely had no intention of misleading users. The Extensions page describes the different prices and we've updated the email a few times to try to make it clear. If you have suggestions, we'd gladly look into making things easier.

Last, but not least, later this month, we're moving to a new subscription extension entirely, so we'll have to revisit the topic again. The start of our site overhaul has begun with the upgrade of our forums. You'll be happy to see under the "Users" menu, there is a "My Posts" menu item where you can easily see all of your past topics.

The full-site new design should be implemented by month's end which will hopefully make everything easier to find and use on the site.

As always, thank you, and should you have any other questions, concerns or feedback, we'd love to hear them.

Thanks,
Alex

As always, your response is right on track to calm irrational and otherwise badly behaved customers. You need to bottle that and sell it to customer service organizations that need the training.

Look forward to the changes on the site.
