Hi there,
Do you have a best practice or recommendation to increase FB page likes from my website using JFBConnect? Can logging in with FB for the first time be associated with a FB page like?

I'm quite sure I have not utilized jFBconnect on the site to stimulate page likes from my site itself and would appreciate any recommendations/suggestions.

The site is at goodtalktnt.com

Thanks for your help.

There's a lot of restrictions on how you can get users to Like your site/Page. Mainly, they all revolve around making sure the user is doing it voluntarily. So, you can't 'gate' content that is only visible if a user Like's the Page, or otherwise force the user to click Like. There's also no way to click the Like button for a user (after the login, perform some other action, etc).

With that said, there are plenty of ways you show the Like button or catch people at the right time to get them to click it. If you make sales on your site, having some text on the confirmation page like below can work well:
"Thanks for your order, stay up to date with updates from our site on Facebook ---> LIKE BUTTON"

Similarly, after a user registers the first time, you could do something similar and redirect them to a specific article thanking them for registering and how to follow you/your site.

Beyond that, you can use the Page Tab widget to show the last posts from your Facebook Page. That has a big Like button at the top, which can get people to see what kind of discussions or posts are made on your page and help them understand why they'd want to follow the page.

I hope that gives some ideas, but if you need any other suggestions or help, just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex

Very helpful. Thanks. Where is the page tab widget though? Not finding that option in any of the modules.

By the way, Is your tutorial about adding a face book like to Joomla out-of-date? Seems you've combined lots of modules into one. Correct?

There should be a Canvas / Page Tab menu item in the JFBConnect backend. It's not included in the social widgets.

This is very, very likely. We are constantly evolving JFBConnect and have fallen behind on keeping the documentation as up-to-date as it should be. I'm working hard on the Joomla 4 compatibility release right now. Afterwards, documentation is one of the items on my to-do list.
