Hi,

I've installed JFBConnect OK and have gone through the app authorisation process at LinkedIn to obtain Application Credentials.

However within JFBConnect > Social Channels > Attributes it is asking me to select a Channel Owner and the selector is basically empty - how do I move forwards?

To setup a channel, there are a few steps:
1) Setup your LinkedIn Application
2) Add the API/Secret keys to your site
3) Authenticate on your site using LinkedIn
After you've authenticated using LinkedIn, then your account should show up in the Attributes area to select a user. You can also check the JFBConnect -> Usermap area to ensure your account exists in there.

I'm assuming you've already taken care of steps 1 and 2. It's step 3, which should just be a matter of authenticating and approving your application on LinkedIn to access your profile that should be left.

Finally, please note that you must be approved for the LinkedIn Marketing Program to use the channel feature with LinkedIn. The Marketing Program is free to apply to, but can take a few days to get approval.

Thanks,
Alex

Alzander,

I had missed the need to apply for the LinkedIn Marketing Program and so did this, unfortunately they have now responded declining my application - the reason is not altogether clear (see screenshot).

I may have answered a question wrong but before I create another 'app' so I can make a new application, can you confirm that LinkedIn do still allow a social stream to be shown within a joomla module using your component? I'm worried that this is no longer supported? Do you know of others doing this - It would give be great comfort to see it being done by one of your customers.

Yes, we still support showing LinkedIn company posts in a stream.

I actually pushed out a release today of JFBConnect with some bug fixes for version 2 of their API. We also have had a hard time getting accepted into the Marketing Developer Program and have tried creating a new app as well to get in again. One of our JFBConnect customers recently was accepted in and allowed us temporary access to their app/website to debug some recent issues with the streams. We fully intend on supporting this feature.
