One more for today ;p
I cannot seem to get the LI App for JFBC firing correctly (spoiler alert: it's the App, not JFBC - I simply can't figure out what I'm missing?!)

File Attachment:

The App was accepted in/does have/is included in the LI Marketing Developer Platform:
File Attachment:

The App appears to have all the necessary permissions for Social Share/Share:
File Attachment:

The App has been Verified linked to Company Page:

Does anything jump out to anyone as to what is missing/wrong in our config? I can login/authenticate, but none of the extra permissions are showing in the App (just the basic):

It looks like you've got everything right. LinkedIn did change their behavior earlier this year and we support the 'old' behavior still. We applied for the LinkedIn Marketing Developer Program back in June and are still in Review.. which kinda sucks. There's no reason as to why and it's a bit of a black box, but we've sent our support tickets asking to get it out of the molasses it's in.

With that said, after they switched to requiring the new Marketing Developer Program requirement, the 'old' way continued to work for some time. I'm not sure when that was blocked, but it seems like the current JFBConnect method doesn't work even if you are approved for the MDP.

Unfortunately, the documentation for the MDP is either hidden (possibly unlocked when we are approved) or incredibly hard to find. If you're interested in providing FTP access to your site, we'll gladly investigate further to see if we can figure out a solution. If so, please Private Message me by clicking the mail icon to the left to send Joomla administrator and FTP credentials so we can modify code.

We just submitted a support ticket to LinkedIn tonight, so it's possible we'll get our access soon.. we'll have to see.

Thanks,
Alex

Indeed! We have gotten and/or found from LinkedIn basically ZERO guidance, information or documentation related to the Marketing Developer Program. As far as we can discern, we are in the Program (confirmation email + the Product shows as an Added Product in our App and the requisite Permissions for Update Social/Share are granted to us for use in the App). But as seen below, in spite of having been granted all the permissions, only the basic permissions are getting called at Login/Authentication.

We also have access/can access the Marketing Developer Platform Product Settings in our App - this only shows a setting to "Add an Ad Account" - are we supposed to/are we required to ALSO have an Ad account for this to work? This is getting crazy if so...

Let me change some security settings and I will PM you FTP credentials.

Thank You, Alex!

Your doing better than us :) After nudging them, our application was declined due to our use case. Unfortunately, we submitted it back in June (and honestly, pretty quickly to get it in) and don't even remember what we described our Use Case as.. We're trying to work through that now to resubmit.. but they've thrown up other hurdles.

I don't think the 'Ad Account' area has any relevance to the permissions and API we'd need to post content.

If you update things and can send us FTP credentials, let us know and we'll gladly help however we can. Another option would be to send us your Client ID and Secret Key and update your app with a callback URL we can use. That way, we can do development locally (which is easier) and we won't have admin access to your site (which is understandably not desired).

If you'd prefer that, setup a callback URL like below (note .test, which is not normally valid on the 'net but works for development). You'd need to set this in the 'Auth' section of your app:
www.sourcecoast.test/index.php?option=co...ck&provider=linkedin

Once that's set, Private Message the client_id and secret key and we'll get to work. When done, you can always reset/change the secret ID.

Hopefully, we'll get our own access soon :/

Thanks!

Well this story has taken an extra turn (for the better). The same LI App discussed here for JFBC I am also using for EasyBlog (@Stackideas - fwiw, they too are having the exact same issues as the rest of us getting their app approved).

However, they gave me some updated files to replace in several LI directories for their Component and, for whatever reason, our LI App was then able to pull these advanced permissions only available under the Marketing Developer Platform:

I could also map/select the desired Company Page:

I decided to revoke the token, logout and retry to see if it would pull manage Pages/Posts permissions for JFBC - and? It does now (2nd step of Permissions Request after the initial default request for email, profile etc.):

File Attachment:

I'm still not getting a connection to JFBC Channels though:

File Attachment:

* full disclosure: I also think I'm not setting up the Channels correctly with the plugins/objects or just not understanding how this area works, but to keep the issues clear I will open a separate ticket on that.

** I like the option to add the callback url and have done so; will PM you the necessary info. If you also need access to our site Admin Backend/Panel I have a temp user account that i can bump up privileges for, and can still setup for SFTP if necessary.

Thx Arlex for your help here and if you can use anything else in the process for the benefit of JFBC (access, information, etc.) we are happy to oblige access or info that helps Sourcecoast.

Hi, Alex -

I hate to pester but I did add the callback url to the app for testing (connecting the LinkedIn Company Page) and PM'd you the deets. Is there any way you could take a look and see if there is a fix? As mentioned, I actually do have this working via the JFBC login on another component (EasyBlog).

Thank You!
