Looking for a plugin to add OpenGraph, Twitter and other Social Media metadata to the Newsletter so posts of articles can be made directly from the Newsletter.

ACYMailing has a primitive social media tag that will allows adding an image, that has the string Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, etc. in the file name, in the folder media/com_acymailing/templates, to the social media post from the newsletter. But this only allows for one image to be used for each social media venue, i.e. the organization logo in the correct size for the particular social media venue..

The way I see this happening, with bulletins that go out with the posting of each new article on the site, is that I would like to include the image, title, description, and all the properties for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn when the user clicks the social media icon on the bulletin containing the latest article, so that the post going to each of these social media venues is complete and well formed. Granted they can always come to the site by clicking the Read More link, but they may not do that, and I want to give them the opportunity to post right from the email/article bulletin.

I asked ACYMailing about this a year ago, and I still don't see a plugin available.

Alex is this possible, would it be profitable for you to do this, in other words would this be an enhancement that would draw more people to JFBConnect?

I'm not sure I fully understand what you're looking for. It may be a lack of knowledge of newsletter capabilities and meta tags, so bare with me.

For the Open Graph tags and features I'm aware of, those are all for a specific page of your site. How are you expecting to use multiple sets of tags in a newsletter? The only thing I can imagine is that you want a 'Share' or 'Like' button in the newsletter that's easily clickable. If that Like button is for a URL on your site, then the OG tags can be set on that page and a Like button from your newsletter should show the proper tags if clicked.

Please let me know any more details you can and we can think about possibilities. It's not something we're focused on and don't see what we could do (or howe we'd monetize it) yet.

Thanks,
Alex

Monetizing it is most important.

ACYMailing has a panel called "Header" where I can add things like:
<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cinzel" rel="stylesheet" />
and it gets picked up.

I was thinking that a plugin for ACYMailing could populate that panel with the Social Media metadata for a particular article and then ACYMailing could handle the processing of that metadata so that when the Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or whatever Social Media icon is clicked a nice post is sent to the Social Media venue.

Of course the page could be scraped to locate the metadata on the page, that is an approach that ACYMailing could develop all by themselves.

The thing is how do we monetize this. How many people use your page tags, and then how many people that use those page tags would then take the trouble to worry about that in their newsletters?

I wanted to do this, because I am always looking for way to increase reach.
