Hi All, any advice on getting these 2 permissions approved or anyone done it succesfully, I read all the guidelines etc the only thing maybe I can think of is that the FB app might have been live at the time they tested. Does the app need to be in Dev mode for them to test of live. Can't see any answer on this. Thx Chris

For Groups API, I'm assuming you're trying to post to groups using the Channel feature? Generally, you shouldn't need to go through the review process *if* the Group admin is also an admin of the Facebook Application. If that's the case, then you can switch your app to 'dev' mode, authenticate on the front-end to grant the permission on login, and then switch back to live mode. The permission should still be granted then.

If you're needing the Group permission so that you can post to regular user's Group pages, then yes, you'll need to go through the full review process. You'll need to show exactly how you'll be using the group permission, like setting up channels and posting to your users groups.. That is more complex, but if that's what you're trying to do, it's a step you'll need to take.

I hope that helps explain, but if you still have issues, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex, yes I only want to show posts from my FB Group that I am the admin of but whenever I set it live I keep getting that error maybe I have ticked something I shouldn't have at the moment in dev mode it is great posts show on the left hand side users can click the link in the post and go to fb group page. I don't want to show posts from any other groups or post to them. What permission should FB ask for when logging in, I think I may have to de link and start from scratch. :-)

Cheers
CHris.

OK pressed a lot of buttons turned things off and on cleared caches etc, seems to be working now. Never did pop up and ask for permission though and app is live..

Off topic but did you ever get the ability to share a Kunena post to facebook working?

Cheers
Chris.

P.S Appreciate the help.

I think this and your other post are similar and it seems like things are working from here, which is great to hear.

As for Kunena, no, we don't have an automated posting ability for Kunena. The issue we've run into with Kunena (or any forum extension) is controls on how much too post and how often. We can do just the topics, which makes sense.. but that still can have a long thread to it. Obviously, that draws users to the site, but it also can just clutter up the Page/Group feed to where it's just a listing of the forums. I guess it depends on how active the forum is.

If you have any thoughts on how you'd envision a forum auto-posting functionality to work, we're all ears.

Thanks,
Alex
