Google+ Next Steps was created by vipHL
Greetings!
I saw some notes in prior threads about Google+ support and what to do next.
I wanted to check in with you to see what steps we should take on our end to be ready (we currently use Google+ at signin)
Please let me know.
Many thanks! Rounds

We recently released JFBConnect v8.0.5. Please update to that release which makes some additional changes and removes some deprecated features (Google +1, etc).

We'll be monitoring closely how Google authentication evolves and release updates as necessary if issues are encountered.

Thanks,
Alex

Greetings Alex.....thank you for letting me know.
I just downloaded and installed 8.0.5. I was concerned I might have done something wrong - it said it installed properly, however, when I looked in the front end and in the backend Google+ was still there (and I did not see any options for the plain google sign-in). The site is vipHomeLink.Co and the buttons are on the front end log-in.
Could you please let me know if there is something else I need to do? Or please let me know if I might be doing something wrong.
Many thanks again! Rounds

I mistakenly forgot to check in the social login buttons for "Login with Google" in the last release. I was going to include them in our next bug fix release. In the meantime, if you'd like the new buttons, they're attached to this thread.

Otherwise, if you are seeing other functionality that is still using the Google+ API calls, please let us know.

Hi Melissa....thank you!
That is great news that it will work.
Does that mean the the current Google+ Button will just be replaced by the new buttons? And will it use the new Google protocols behind the scenes?
Also, I tried to download the button, but it came through with some black pixels....is there another version I can try out.
Many thanks! Rounds

I saw the weird pixels. Can you refresh the thread and try to get the images again? I just re-uploaded them to our server and think it should be fixed.

If you put those two files into the /media/sourcecoast/images/provider/google directory, the new buttons will be used instead of the old ones. Yes, JFBConnect was updated to use the Google Sign In - Google OAuth 2.0 API in mid 2018. This latest 8.0.5 release removed the remaining Google+ calls/widgets.
