Looks like I'm well down the rabbit hole with this one.

Here's what I want to do:

I want my restaurant client to post their daily specials to their website which then gets pushed to their Facebook page. I seem to be jumping through an inordinate amount of hoops just to make this work. If this was a Wordpress site, I'd install Jetpack, get my FB credentials, and then I'm good.

I just spent nearly two hours trying to make this work on my Joomla site (and I actually prefer Joomla). I'm an experienced Joomla designer/developer.

This is an established site with an established FB page, and assigning this capability to my computer-phobic client is just not going to fly. It'd be great if I could just assign my client's Joomla account to her FB account via some function from within the extension so that I can simply choose this user and assign posting privileges.

I just want certain posts from certain categories to push to their FB page. Because I see the potential in this extension for other more complex sites, I really want to learn what I need to do, but this is getting crazy. I decided to give this extension a try because my previous method of pushing using IFTTT seems to be breaking down.

Please help.

I'm sorry for the delay in response. What you're asking can be accomplished with our Channels feature in JFBConnect. When the Joomla article is published, we can automatically push a post to the FB page.

You can find detailed instructions at our Quick Start Guide for "Post Content to Social Networks".

In general, you'll have to 1) create a channel to the FB page 2) set the channel owner to an administrator of the FB page 3) set up an Open Graph object to that specific category and then 4) configure the autopost options in the channel. There are other nuances such as accepting permissions, etc, so I highly encourage you to read the Quick Start Guide section first. Of course, if you have any further questions, please let us know.
