Alta User Points

We removed the ability to reward points for Like's back in July. The reason is because Facebook removed the ability to detect when a user clicks the Like button in May/June. They did that after the privacy fiasco earlier in the year and there's nothing we can do to bring that ability back.

I just looked through our code and the code for AUP to let you reward points was removed. However, if you're using an earlier version of AUP, that may have included the Like option rewards, which may be why you see it.

They removed it for shares too. Shares were always restricted a bit differently, but either way, features for tracking were removed there as well. On top of all that, Facebook released a new Platform Policy which made incentivizing Likes/Shares in any way a big no-no. That was always a bullet-point in their policies, in all honesty, but they gave tools that allowed it and seemed to look the other way. With the changes they made, they pretty much came out and said, "Don't do it and don't try to get around it".
