Topic-icon Autopost to FB and Twitter not working after updates

Hi,

I updated to Joomla 3.8.12 and JFBC 3.0.8 on 1 September at which point autoposting to both FB and Twitter stopped working. Channel:History is showing no autoposts after 1 Sept. Plenty of appropriate content has been created since then. Have been trying to solve myself but to no avail.
1. Manual posting from the front end still works
2. SCLogin works for both FB and Twitter
3. FB app hasn't been submitted for review, but as both it and Twitter stopped working at the same time, this doesn't seem to be the issue.

Any thoughts as to next steps?

Rob

I would recommend trying to create a new FB or Twitter Channel to see if it's able to autopost. I'm unsure what version of JFBConnect you were upgrading from, but v8 introduced a lot of changes for posting content, mainly for Facebook, but some minor changes for Twitter.

The new channel can connect to the existing Facebook Page, so it'd be a complete duplicate. If it works though, you can remove the old channel and just stick with the new.

I hope that helps get you started, but if not, please let us know what else you've tried. The autoposting and manual posting use the same logic, so beyond the above, please let us know what type of content your autoposting. I'm assuming Joomla articles/content, but if not there could be an issue with the integration with another extension.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for that Alex,

It's plain vanilla Joomal articles that I'm posting.

In the process of investigation, I logged on to the website front end via Facebook and after creating a couple of new articles I now have a working automatic feed to FB, but alas not yet to Twitter. I have yet to set up a test after logging in via Twitter (I ran out of time today), so that's my next step.

Could it be authentication tokens getting a bit tired and needing a reboot via a login?

I will report back with results of the Twitter test.

Rob

Although Twitter did ask me to re-authenticate today, it still wouldn't autopost.

I followed your suggestion and created a new duplicate Twitter channel. Autoposting working now.

Thanks for your help!

Awesome! I'm glad to hear recreating the channel worked for you. Obviously, that shouldn't be necessary, but sometimes blowing things away helps clear out and refresh the tokens properly to get things going.

Of course, if you run into anything else or have any other issues, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
