Think there is a problem with Community Builder 2.2.0 & JFBConnect 8.0.0.

When a new user uses their Social Media credentials to create an user account, the user does not appear in the Community Builder user list but rather the standard Joomla user list. However I have switched off user registration in Joomla and set SCLogin (which is the module where the Social Media links are) to use Community Builder as the registration component. I have also turned off the required status for all user fields within Community Builder.

Furthermore after logging in, the link to the user profile returns the following error message.

This user has not yet confirmed his email address and account!
This user has not yet been approved by a moderator!

However I turned off the requirement that users be admin approved in Community Builder.

Something is preventing the user from being saved in CB. It's always an issue figuring out what. Required fields usually aren't an issue anymore as we implemented a workaround for that about a year ago (thankfully). Now, it's usually some add-on for CB that performs additional checks or adds other requirements. When those requirements aren't met on some specific field, that add-on can cause the user to not be stored properly *in CB*.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you specifically what is causing it offhand. I'd recommend trying to disable every add-on that isn't a part of 'core' Community Builder to see if that fixes the registration. Once it's narrowed down as to what specific setting is preventing the user from being saved, then we can help determine if that setting can be re-enabled somehow (if it's critical for your site).

If you disable things and are unable to figure it out, please send us Super Admin and FTP credentials to your site. We'll gladly try to help determine the cause, but it can take some time as we don't know your site, which makes it more difficult to understand all the interactions going on.

You can Private Message us by clicking the mail icon under my name to the left.

Thanks,
Alex

Add-ons? Could you be a bit more specific in what I should be switching off?

Also I am looking at the following page:
www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/features/...ity-builder-facebook
which includes the following graphic.
www.sourcecoast.com/images/jfbconnect/fe...ok-Configuration.png
Where do I find this tab?

However not all bad news because I found pressing "Synchronize users" in CB Tools, the user is then correctly added to the Community Builder's user list. Clicking on the user profile then works fine and the CB Profile is displayed. Therefore I am wondering if this issue is something that I have simply overlooked?

If you can the answer above then I will try to solve myself before sending you my website details.

Yeah, that's normal when the user can't be saved normally. The Sync Users button is CB's way of letting you pull existing Joomla user's into CB, but it's definitely not something you want to have to do regularly :)

The picture you show above should be in JFBConnect's admin area in the "Profiles" section. If you're not seeing it there, please make sure you've enabled the "Social Profiles - Community Builder" plugin in the Joomla Plugin Manager. That plugin is what's responsible for creating the CB user when they login with a social network so that you don't have to 'sync' the user's manually.

I hope that the plugin being disabled is the only problem you have as that's an easy solution. If it's enabled and you're still not seeing the user created, you'll have to investigate addons or plugins to disable. As to which ones, I don't have a specific answer, unfortunately. It would be something for CB, so a CB-specific plugin or add-on to augment user's profiles only.

Let me know if the above helps, but if not, we'll gladly help however we can.

Thanks,
Alex
