Hi there,

We are configuring JFBConnect, but we are finding a lot of troubles getting Facebook and Google APIs, the documentation is outdated and is not even close to the current UX/UI of Google or Facebook. For example, I'm receiving this error message at JFBConnect - AutoTune:
Facebook API Error: (#10) Changing app settings through API calls has been disabled for this app. Go to your app's advanced settings to enable this.
Facebook Application configuration could not be loaded. Please check your App ID and Secret Key

Please, could you give us some ideas how to configure correctly the APIs?

Thanks,

Innova

Facebook is constantly changing their App creation area. We try to keep up as best we can and, generally, the instructions should help get you going. One thing we've heard lately is that the API access to configure your app, which is required by our Autotune tool, is disabled by default. To fix that, please go to the Facebook App area, click into your app and go to Settings ->Advanced. In there, find the "Allow API Access" setting and switch it to 'Yes'. Once you save that, Autotune should function properly for you.

Autotune is our solution to the problem above. By automatically configuring your application for you, it should remove the need for going into the Developer area almost entirely.

I hope that helps get you going, but if you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reply. The Facebook API is now working. However, we are finding some troubles to get the Google API. I personally configured this API many times before, but the new interface is completely different now and is not easy to configure if you don't have a clear idea of what you need according to the system requirements where the API is going to be implemented.

Maybe an easy way to share this info, is just to record your screen with a free chrome extension like "Awesome Screenshot", while you are configuring the Google API. This will take you just a couple of minutes of work and could save hours to new users.

Thanks again for your help.

Best,

I've put in an issue in our tracker to update the Google documentation. I'm sorry for the frustration that our lack of updated documentation has caused. The APIs and interfaces are commonly changed, but we need to stay on top of it.

I've processed your refund request with the payment processor. Please allow a few days for the refund to be completed.
