Error code 406 was created by petgal
Hi,
How did your house fare from the hurricane?

Writing now because i've moved my test site from my developer's server to my own shared server. I noticed logging in didn't work so I ran Auto-tune and found a few url fields needed to be changed but when I get to the Error check I get a 406 error code:
screencast.com/t/5BbJnY1cFW

I searched your documentation and the answer here does not help me. www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/comm...IiwiY29kZSA0MDYiXQ==

Can you help me understand and fix this?

Appreciate it.

Our house survived just fine. We had some minor damage, but nothing we won't recover from and no flooding, which is always the most worrisome. It worked out as well as any cat-4 going within a hundred miles of your home can :)

Writing now because i've moved my test site from my developer's server to my own shared server. I noticed logging in didn't work so I ran Auto-tune and found a few url fields needed to be changed but when I get to the Error check I get a 406 error code:
screencast.com/t/5BbJnY1cFW

The error message on the Autotune page describes the problem and the link in the Common Support Questions area tries to explain it with this:

Error Code: 406 - Unknown Error - The full error coming back from Autotune is usually "Not Acceptable! An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security." It seems like mod_security (an Apache firewall addon) is blocking our automated tool from scanning your page. Mod_security, in general, tries to prevent 'bad' requests (malicious, automated, and various other kinds). It may be detecting our tool is automated (not a real browser) and denying it. You'll need to investigate your mod_security logs, or disable it, to let the Autotune tool perform its checks. Additionally, we recommend testing your page with other automated checkers, such as www.internetmarketingninjas.com/header-checker/

Essentially though, your server has the mod_security Apache extension enabled and it's rejecting our Autotune configuration tool from connecting to your site. That's not something we have control of. You'll need to contact your hosting company to understand why mod_security is blocking the request (it will be in their logs). If they do have a log of it and can provide the exception that's causing the block, feel free to send it and we can try to update our requests to avoid the automated detections.

I hope that helps clarify more, but if you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Good to hear that your house survived and you and your loved ones are safe.

Regarding the problem, I reached out to tech support and I'm afraid they were no help. The transcript is below. In short, I don't think they even understood. What do you think i should do? Just ignore the auto tune? JFBconnect seems to be logging me in fine now that I've changed the url's to my new test site.

Here's the info to my site in case there's anything you can do.

Here's the transcript:

Yup, ignore it. There's nothing we can do on our end to fix it. The Error Check tool looks for some common mis-configuration problems. However, if you aren't running into issue, that's a good indication that there's no much to look into.

If you run into problems, one of the first things we do is run the error check tool on the site and, if it fails, we run the same checks manually.. so just post here, as always, if you run into problems and we'll help as always.

Thanks,
Alex
