Topic-icon SOLVED - SCLogin module error with jomsocial (registration page only)

Hi
Sorry if this is long winded but has taken a long time to identify the issue so though it best to provide an in depth explanation -

The issue is - The SCLogin module login fails (either as modal or static) On pages with jomsocial registration,
Error = The most recent request was denied because it contained an invalid security token. Please refresh the page and try again.
The standard joomla core login works on pages with jomsocial registration,
users can login on all pages except for those with both the Jomsocial registration and the SCLogin module.

I have set up 2 x examples - test user = ukhhfs - raymond (Only a registered user so no admin rights)
Both pages have the SClogin module and the standard joomla core login module (SCLogin labelled as 'I Have An Account')
1 with jomsocial registration page - buywight.com/site-registration
SCLogin fails
Joomla core login module works

2 with joomla registration page - buywight.com/isle-of-wight-classifieds/joomla-reg-login-test
SCLogin and Joomla core both work - this is just to prove that the SCLogin works with both jomsocial and joomla registration page,

These links can be found under home menu > Home dropdown

Any help in fixing this issue will be most appreciated
JFBC Version: 7.0.2
Joomla 3.6.2
Thank you
Iain

The 'invalid security token' message is almost always caused by caching issues. Can you go into the SCLogin settings and in the Advanced Parameters area set Caching to 'None'? That usually fixes the issue. If not, please try going into the Joomla Global Configuration and disable caching there just for testing purposes. If that fixes things, that will definitely narrow down what to try next.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex and thank you for your reply
I had already read many forum topics on similar issues so Caching is already disabled everywhere -
System cache - - OFF caching disbled
Plugins - System - Page Cache - Disabled
SCLogin - All instances of the module = Advanced - Caching - No Caching
Yet issue still persists
I have also tried disabling 1 instance of the SCLogin (Header, Position) In case it was 2 x instances of the SCLogin on same page causing issue = Same issue

Pulling what little I have left of hair out and have been investigating for 3 days now
Any further help would be much appreciated - Only an issue on page with both jomsocial registration and SCLogin module
Yes, a solution would be not to publish both on the same page but my client is requesting that they are for options for their users

Regards
Iain

I've never seen an issue like this before. If you refresh the page over and over, the SCLogin module is always using the token from the last page load. To see for yourself, you can look at the HTML for each Login form. There's a hidden input at the bottom of each that looks like:
<input type="hidden" name="95d3ad149a8c374c5be929d3cd12ab30" value="1">
If you refresh over and over, you'll see that the Joomla login form has a token on a page and then, after a refresh, the SCLogin will use that 'old' token while the Joomla form has a new one. So the SCLogin one is always out of date... why? I don't have a clue right now...

If you know any reason the SCLogin module would be rendered differently on that site, please do tell. If not, can you Private Message me admin credentials and we'll gladly help investigate further. You can PM me by clicking the mail icon under my name to the left.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex
As further invetigation, So as not teave it all to you :)
I have tried the protostar template with just the jomsocial registration page and a new instance of the SCLogin module - Still the same issue
buywight.com/isle-of-wight-classifieds/prostart-test
test user = ukhhfs - raymond

Whilst you were away, I also updated to JFBConnect v7..0.3
Issue still persists

Thanks for the further details. We're trying to investigate and recreate this on our end. It's bizarre what's happening and not something we've seen before.

If you can provide links to the other 2 posts that you mentioned may be similar, that could help. We'll let you know what we find though.

On a final note, JFBConnect can automatically show the social login buttons on the JomSocial registration page. If that's all you're trying to accomplish, I'd recommend going to Configuration -> Integrations in the JomSocial admin area and setting "Use SourceCoast's JFBC" to 'Yes'.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex, Thanks for ongoing investigation
I have created the 3 links under the home menu as dropdowns - www.buywight.com/
Jomsocial - www.buywight.com/site-registration
Joomla www.buywight.com/isle-of-wight-classifie...oomla-reg-login-test
www.buywight.com/isle-of-wight-classifieds/prostart-test

And removed the FB social login module in case of conflict
www.sourcecoast.com/forums/non-commercia...login-from-front-end
Sorry but unable to locate #59263 Permalink but it is a post in the sourcecoast forum - That was the permalink id from the post
Re - On a final note - Yes I have disabled them in Jomsocial as it was not the layout the cliaent wanted so I had to create a seperate module to call/display the social icons in which the client wanted to display them
