We do have the "Use OpenID if No Google+ Profile Exists" in the JFBConnect backend > Configuration > Google section. This should fall back to allowing you to logging in via Google credentials. We agree that Google+ is on the way out. I've added an issue to our tracker to clean this up and also update the login button images in a future release.
Agreed that Google+ is being phased out in many ways. We're already investigating the updated
Google Sign-In API
. Our biggest priority will be ensuring backward compatibility with our existing Google+ authentication to prevent hiccups in the change.
