Robin,
The LinkedIn Apply feature was removed by LinkedIn about 2 years ago. We used to support it when it was available. However, LinkedIn made the Apply feature something that was only available to user's that had approved access and only for specific use cases. They also made it much more difficult to implement. We don't plan to re-add support for the feature in the future.

For more information on how the new LinkedIn Apply button, see the page below:
developer.linkedin.com/docs/apply-with-linkedin

With LinkedIn Authentication, we offer the ability to import many user profile fields, allowing the user to engage with your site. So, you can still get user profile information from LinkedIn even without the Apply button.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Hi Alex,
thanks for your answer.
I thought you support the new apply feature.
I saw it here for example: extensions.joomla.org/extension/jlinked

What exactly do you mean with that :)
LinkedIn made the Apply feature something that was only available to user's that had approved access?

OK, can you tell me how I can get user profile information from LinkedIn with your component?
Is there a tutorial?
Where will be the information stored? In a mail or in Joomla?

Thanks Alex,
Cheers Robin

JLinked was the original version of our LinkedIn integration. It's been discontinued for more than 2 years. All of it's features were integrated into JFBConnect. Shortly after we integrated JLinked into JFBConnect, we had to remove the Apply button due to the changes from LinkedIn.

What exactly do you mean with that current/smile

If you follow the link I posted above, you'll see a big section on LinkedIn's page that says "Request access to this API". If you want to try to add Apply features to your site, you'll need to get approval from LinkedIn first.

OK, can you tell me how I can get user profile information from LinkedIn with your component?

We support pulling in user information with our profile Social Profile plugins. You can learn more about how to pull in information into various 3rd part profile extensions on the following page:
www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/third-party-integration/
Basically:
* Enable the Social Profile plugin for an extension you want to integrate with
* Configure how profile data is imported in the JFBConnect -> Profiles admin area
We support Joomla's profile plugin and more robust profile extensions like JomSocial, EasySocial, Community Builder, Kunena, K2 and more. We also have a Custom DB plugin which lets you store profile information into any custom table in your database.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex
