I might be a bit behind, but is there a newer version of SCSocial module? I'm not sure when it stopped working, but it has. The version I have is 6.2.0 with version 6.4.2 of JFBConnect. Hope someone can shed some light on why the module no longer displays the faces of FB friends. BTW, I'm using Joomla 3.4.5.

Thanks for any help that might be out there today.

The Facepile plugin (the JFBC Friends widget) has been deprecated by Facebook and stopped working on June 23rd with the release of Graph API v2.3

There are other deprecated widgets too, so please check out the complete list at developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/deprecated

I'm not using the FB plugin, but the SC Social Widget module. Will that module still work if I disable the show faces? Or does that entire module no longer work? Sorry to be so thick.

The SCSocialWidget is designed to show any of the Facebook plugins by selecting 'Facebook' as the provider and the appropriate widget from the dropdown box. My statement above applies, as the widget type of Friends will no longer work (and should not be listed as an option in the dropdown anymore).

It seems as if I misinterpreted that you were using the Friends widget, but seem to be using a different widget that has an option for showing faces. In the SCSocialWidget, the following have that option:
1. Like Button, Follow Button, Page Plugin - the show faces option should still work
2. Like Box - the show faces option will NOT work. This Like Box has also been deprecated by Facebook. If this option is selected in our dropdown, we are displaying the 'Page Plugin' widget with defaults. The parameters you've set for the Like Box will be ignored.

If you are using any of the widgets from #1 and the faces are not working, please let us know.

I hope you can view the attachment I just uploaded. It's got the settings for SCSocial Widget. I'm using the Like Button with the Button Count as the Layout. I have changed the Show Faces to No and Verb to Display as Recommend (not Like). The module no longer displays on the website.

What am I missing?

The image is not attached to the thread. However, I went to our upload folder to look at it. For future reference, after you upload it to the site, you need to use the green arrow to attach it to the forum thread.

* The 'URL to Like' is incorrect. This value should either be 1) the absolute URL of a page on your site or 2) left blank for JFBConnect to figure out. However, if you're looking to promote your Facebook page instead of gathering likes your pages on your website, you should be using the 'Page Plugin' widget.
* Show faces option will only work in the layout is set to Standard.

Thank you so much for the quick replies. Forgive my ignorance on how to actually get the attachment to display.

Here's an interesting tidbit. Even after making the setting changes, I don't see anything in Firefox 42.0, but in Chrome Version 46.0.2490.80, I DO indeed see something appear on the home page for SCSocial Widget.

Now I'm going to set everything back the way it was and check the site in Chrome. Any ideas why Firefox won't display and Chrome will? Weird!

Something about Chrome that works better with Facebook, even if I select the deprecated Like Box. The module will still display correctly in Chrome! Now I'm really confused.

Could you provide a specific URL where you're seeing the behavior? I looked at the URL for the page that you've run AutoTune on and I see the Page Plugin on both Chrome and Firefox.

Home page of www.lifescanvasphotography.com

From Chrome, I can see the "facepile" and everything..........even deprecated plugins! From Firefox, it's blank. Look for "Our Facebook Page" in right module position.
