Hi, I have created an object under the Open Graph. It seems that I can't change the picture that it is shows when Facebook like button is pressed. It shows the first page on my article. I have tried to change the values on the Object window without any effect.

It is interesting though that when i debbug the page from facebook, I get different results.
Also the share button doesn't display the same picture as the the like button.

It seems that the article intro image or the first article image on the options are not working.

The page url is: www.home-biology.gr/ilektromagnitikes-ak...s-ipsilon-sixnotiton
the intro picture should be :http://www.home-biology.gr/images/highfrequencyradiation.jpg
I have even placed an exception on the page by including {SCOpenGraph image=http://www.home-biology.gr/images/highfrequencyradiation.jpg} on my article.

Thanks in advace.

P.S. I have tried by disabling gzip and cache

Looking at your page in the FB debugger, I see the following error which I think might be part of the problem:

Circular Redirect Path Circular redirect path detected (see 'Redirect Path' section for details).

The link above www.home-biology.gr/ilektromagnitikes-ak...s-ipsilon-sixnotiton has a canonical url on the page to www.home-biology.gr/index.php/asirmata-i...a-ipsilis-sixnotitas. However, that page has a canonical url back to www.home-biology.gr/ilektromagnitikes-ak...s-ipsilon-sixnotiton. I think that Facebook is having trouble fetching the tags on the page because of this.

When I attempt to go to www.home-biology.gr/index.php/asirmata-i...a-ipsilis-sixnotitas it is redirected to www.home-biology.gr/ilektromagnitikes-ak...s-ipsilon-sixnotiton. However, when JFBConnect asks Joomla for the url of the page, it thinks that www.home-biology.gr/index.php/asirmata-i...a-ipsilis-sixnotitas is the correct URL. Do you have any SEF extensions enabled that are redirecting this page or can you guess where the sixnotitas URL is generated/coming from?

We have moved from a 2.5 Joomla to 3.xx version with a full new redesign in menu structure etc...
We use joomla's redirect component for the 301 redictions (old pages that don't exist any more), and the component for the og:url in every article in order to obtain the facebook like numbers. In the particular page I placed a second 'override' for image.

<p>{SCOpenGraph url=http://www.home-biology.gr/index.php/asirmata-ilektromagnitika-pedia-ipsilis-sixnotitas} {SCOpenGraph image=http://www.home-biology.gr/images/highfrequencyradiation.jpg}

Now it seems to be Ok.

Yet I would like to have the picture taken automatic from the new url as it was set up in the configuration.

Thaks in advance

When you set the og:url tag to a different page, Facebook will scan that page for the og:image tag to use. It will not look at the 'current' page since that's not the one you're specifying should be used.

The only way to update the image would be to set the og:image tag on the page you have set as the og:url tag. Since it sounds like that page no longer exists, there wouldn't be a way to do what you want. That's simply how Facebook works. In general, redoing your links can cause a lot of havoc on things like this (we know) and keeping your old share count is a toss-up between the difficulty in doing it vs the alternative of starting back at 0 for a page.

We recommend only trying to setup redirects on your most popular content with a huge amount of Likes. The other content, with lesser likes, can be rebuilt over time.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex
