Yes, absolutely! JFBConnect has been tested with JomSocial 4 and many users are have sites with both extensions installed. Additionally, JomSocial still has special integration for JFBConnect.

I hope that helps answer your question, but if there were specific features you were looking for, or issues you've run into with past combinations of JFBConnect/JomSocial, let us know and we'll provide whatever info we can.

Thanks,
Alex

I have also found that the access a user activated JFBConnect, navigation is much slowed.
Inactive JFBConnect and everything returns to normal.

I do not know if it's related with the connection failure and curl lib.

The error I see is "Protocol "https" not supported or disabled in libcurl"

Even when you use the "Disable SSL Verification" option in JFBConnect, your server still needs to be able to make outgoing, encrypted connections. There's no way around that. You'll need to contact your host and have enable SSL support within libcurl. Otherwise, no social network authentication features will work as they all require communication to be made over SSL.

Please note that you do *not* need an SSL certificate for your website. Your server just needs to be able to make SSL outbound connections to other servers, like Facebook.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Remember that before renewing my license in this website to JFBConnect asks if it worked well with jomsocial 4.

curl 7.19.7 (x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu) libcurl/7.19.7 NSS/3.16.2.3 Basic ECC zlib/1.2.3 libidn/1.18 libssh2/1.4.2
Protocols: tftp ftp telnet dict ldap ldaps http file https ftps scp sftp
Features: GSS-Negotiate IDN IPv6 Largefile NTLM SSL libz

The latest stable version for redhat centos 6 is the cURL 7.29, That is the version 7.19, it may not be the problem.

With jomsocial 3 and 6.3 JFBConnect worked perfectly for that very reason, you ask.

Thank you.

The issue isn't with JomSocial v4 at all. As noted, JFBConnect has been tested extensively with that release and we have many, many users successfully using that combination.

Can you please do the following:
* Go to the System Information -> PHP Information area in Joomla and take a screenshot of your curl configuration section. It should look like below:
File Attachment:

Specifically, I'll be looking at the SSL support option and the SSL version, but there's other details that will help as well.

* Next, please let me know the *exact* error message you are receiving. That will help us look up details of what that message means.

Thanks,
Alex

I can't really help you with why cURL wouldn't support SSL on your site. There is some server configuration setting that is preventing it from working. It could either be forcibly disabled or not really working on the server at all. Either way, that's outside the bounds of what I can help with as I'm not a server admin at all.

You mentioned that things worked fine before. Did you make any server changes recently or around when you upgraded to JomSocial v4?

Either way, I'm very glad to hear you found the issue. Hopefully you can contact your hosting company or technical support to determine why PHP isn't able to use cURL with SSL now.

Please keep us posted on what you find out,
Alex
