Topic-icon Avatar and cover picture are not updated after the login

HI we have the latest version of JOMSOCIAL and JFBConnect and after the latest update we are not able to have the cover and avatars updated after the login using JFBConnect.
The configuration is ok (was ok till latest update).

Any idea?

1. In your JFBConnect > Profiles > JomSocial tab, can you verify that both the 'Always Import Profile Data' and 'Import Avatar' settings are still enabled after the upgrade? If both are already set to yes, could you instead turn error reporting on to Maximum or Development in the Joomla configuration area and try to login with your FB user to see if there are any warnings.

2. Can you look in your tmp directory and see if the avatar and cover photo files exist? If it is there, is it 0 bytes or is it a normal size? Also, please try to check the permissions/ownership on the tmp directory to see if it is readable.

3. After the images are saved in the /tmp directory, they are processed and moved to either of the following directories for JomSocial - /images/cover/ and /images/avatar/
Please check the permissions on these folders as well.

Start with these steps and we'll go from there.

Hi Melissa

the point 1 is ok, settings are up and no warning appears referring to JFBConnect

the point 2 is negative. I tryed right now, but in the tmp dir (after ordering the files by date&time) i can just see some files of the 14:56 now we are at 19. I also checked the images but refers to another user

I just registered on your site and my avatar and cover were properly imported. Then, I logged out and back in again. When I did that, there was 2 messages that really, really quickly popped up on the screen and then were hidden by some Javascript. The message HTML was:

Pulling that out, it's:

Welcome back to Cucina.it. Invite your friends to join you! Please send at least 5 Opinions more invites. (Facebook invites not included)

and

Error - You are not authorized to view this resource.

That last one is likely part of the problem. Somewhere, there is an access restriction happening. That could be on where the user is being redirected after they authenticate, some plugin that's causing issues, or plenty of other things. You'll need to narrow down what is causing the last message. It may be related to the first message.

Please do that and, if you still can't see an avatar import on login, let us know and we'll gladly help investigate further.

Hi Alex

we discovered the problem: parainvite component.

We have disabled it and all works.

So, considering the tons of problems we are having with this component, we are going to leave it.
