1. When I create JFBC request button, the action pulls up the FB Invite/Request window. Why do some of the people have Invite and others Request button.

2. Even though people are using the button to Invite or Request, a very small percentage are actually being read. has anyone else had this issue? Here is the link to one of the pages that has request button: www.facebook.com/clemsonlive

If I could figure out this issue, my site would do much better numbers.

Any suggestions would help.

It's confusing, we agree. Hopefully I can help clear some things up.

1. When I create JFBC request button, the action pulls up the FB Invite/Request window. Why do some of the people have Invite and others Request button.

The buttons show differently based on if the user has already installed (authenticated with) your application:
* Invite - The user has never logged into your site using Facebook. The user will be 'invited' to your site.
* Request - The user has authenticated on your site. The user is being requested to do something on your site.
The end result is the same thing. I honestly wish Facebook would make it a little more clear as both button names is confusing.

2. Even though people are using the button to Invite or Request, a very small percentage are actually being read. has anyone else had this issue? Here is the link to one of the pages that has request button:

This ones a lot more difficult to explain, but there is a good explanation.

When a Request is sent, JFBConnect marks request ID that was created by Facebook, the user that sent the request and the user it went to in the database. When a user accepts the request, we *try* to match the request ID and receiving user up to the one that was sent and mark it as 'sent'. Unfortunately, Facebook will *only* return the accepting user's Facebook ID *if* they've already approved your application.

In the case that they haven't already approved your application, we usually don't have enough information to mark the request as sent.

The only case where we can mark a request as 'accepted' if we don't have the user ID is when the request was only sent to one user. In that special case, we can see that the Request ID was used, and since it only applied to one user, it must have been that user that accepted it.

So, basically, the accept rate you see is the absolute floor of how many times your requests have been accepted. There is also a note at the bottom of the Sent/Received notifications area in JFBConnect that shows:

Note: Not all accepted Requests can be marked as 'Read' based on multiple factors, including if you have SSL installed on your site and if the user has previously approved your Application.

The SSL bit, I think, no longer applies actually, but I could be wrong on that.

I hope that helps explain things a bit more. If you have any questions though, please let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
