Topic-icon Getting 403 Redirect "Access Forbidden" on User email Verif link

We are using SCLogin for Joomla registrations, automatic activation set to NO. When a new user clicks the FB Social Profile button to login, the system creates the account ok and sends the User an email containing the link for them to Verify they own the account...upon doing that, a 403 error appears. See axiomww.com to test it, fyi. Not sure why this is happening.

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea why you're seeing that. The activation link looks correct. It's going to the com_users component, as it should. I'm not sure what's denying the users component from operating, but I don't think it's a JFBConnect/SCLogin issue.

Can you try registering a new Joomla account the 'standard' way, without using a social network, and see if the activation link fails then too?

As for causes, I'm really not sure. My only guess is that some plugin or security extension is preventing access to that page for some reason. To eliminate JFBConnect as a cause, you can disable the JFBCSystem plugin.

Beyond that, try to set "Debug Mode" to Yes in the Global Configuration area. That may have more information on the error page.

I hope that helps narrow things down, but keep us posted if there's anything more we can help with.

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry! My bad...we had the Joomla User Global setting set to NO for "Allow User Account Creation"....must have turned that off thinking it was "Activation" instead of creation....we still force Admin activation to control who gets in, and who doesn't. Thanks for the help!

Hehe. No problem for the help. We've been accused of doing much, much worse to user's sites :)

Glad you found the issue. As always, if you need anything else, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
