Hi,

Thanks for this new upgrade. Ive been trying to set up Twitter login and registration. When the user returns after first Twitter login to the website the website registration form still requires email address to add which is ok. I know that Twitter dont give email addresses out therefore they need to add theirs but I have here further questions.
I dont want the user to be able to edit their Twitter User ID and Name. I know I can switch this off in JFBconnect/configuration/general/normal registration by the "Generate and Hide" option but I think it's very confusing because the returning user wont see their twitter user id and name just a form. They wont understand what is it if I hid the input fields. Could you guys add another option as "Show but Disabled" which means it would add a class to this field as: type="disabled". And the user could see their name and user id but they wouldn't be able to edit. That would be obvious that their date is filled just the email is missing.

Other problem is in the Login module there is no option for Twitter button image. There are just Facebook, Google and LinkedIn. No Twitter option and my Google button shows up in the place of Twitter login button.

Regards

Your post isn't being ignored, and I apologize that it hasn't gotten a response yet. We actually like the request and are looking into implmenting a feature like it. I just haven't had time to evaluate all the different pieces you mention to let you know if it's something we could implement right away and give you the code... or, if it's something that you'd need to wait for the next release for.

The registration process is something we're always trying to improve, so we do appreciate your feedback.

I just re-read your original post and realized I missed your last line:

Other problem is in the Login module there is no option for Twitter button image. There are just Facebook, Google and LinkedIn. No Twitter option and my Google button shows up in the place of Twitter login button.

This is a bug in the SCLogin module. It will be fixed in the v5.2.1 release. That's expected out next week. If it's critical to fix right now, we can help you do so, as it's a very minor code change.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Alex,

Its not urgent as the site is not live yet just in the next month therefore i dont need the fix. Last time I asked you for facebook registraion date and we talked about that facebook dont provide such data in their api. As far as i know twitter do such as "created date". Is there any chance to get this data via jfbconnect please? We want to give free membership by akeeba subscription if someone is on Twitter for 100 days or more therefore this feature would be very helpful.

Ps. I added my review on JED.

I wanted to let you know we just added options for "Show and Disable" for the username and email fields. It's a great idea, and we appreciate the feedback. That change will be in the v5.2.1 release, due out (likely) on Friday.

We're looking into the Creation date for Twitter. I looked it up, and that does appear to be a field we can fetch (I didn't know that). It should be easy to add it to the available fields list, but let me look into it a little further.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks. This is really great news for me. I really dont want to be the guy here who keeps asking you for more and more features but I have a last suggestion of this Twitter first login/registration page. I tell you and you will decide if you also think that it is useful or not.
When user is redirected from Twitter and has to add an email address it would be nice to add some explanation or notification text on the top of that page. Something like:
"You have been registered on the website using Twitter login. As a last step of the registration process please add your email address below."

And I read that LinkedIn will be implemented into JFBconnect. Do you know roughly when? :)

There already is a header at the top of the Login/Register page that uses the following language string:

COM_JFBCONNECT_THANKS_FOR_SIGNING_IN="Thanks for signing in using %s. Do you already have an account on this site, or would you like to create one?"

You can update that in the language en_GB/en_GB.com_jfbconnect.ini file (or whatever language file you're using) to show whatever you want. If you're looking for something else though, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
