Facebook's guides state that you have to have the action published with a Test user that you've created. I see you've definitely done that and it should work. Can you also check that:
* You never deleted that action with the test user - if so, recreate the action and try again.
* Try publishing the action with the 'real' user that you are trying to actually submit the action from.. usually, you're real Facebook account. If you deleted the action, again, try to post it again before submitting it.

If neither of those work, can you tell me if there's a "Preview" link next to the submit button? I'm assuming you tried to upload the greyed out submit button above, but the same image of the action config in JFBConnect is shown twice instead.

Let me know how that goes. This is not an issue we've heard of before.

Thanks,
Alex

Every time I get a couple of Error in my JFBC activity log trying to test actions. My site blows up. (see attached image)

My web host sent the following:

I update the permissions again. It seems the action you took on your end changed the permissions or the extension you work on requires higher ( then 755 ) privileges. Please verify the result on your end. If the problem reoccurs, you can update the permissions using FTP or File Manager.

Have You Seen This?

PS Will definitely write you a Lessons Learned on Creating FB Actions with this Component when I get all of these actions approved. It's easy to set up of the JFBC side but the back and forth and hoops you have to go through with facebook makes it difficult and time consuming.

I like the Tool and I'm going to get it done.

We'd love to have your feedback on the action creation and submission process. We try to improve the process on our side with every release, but there's little we can do on the Facebook end of things.

It seems the action you took on your end changed the permissions or the extension you work on requires higher ( then 755 ) privileges.

JFBConnect doesn't change file permissions at all. We also don't require permissions other than the ability for Joomla/Apache to read the PHP files to be able to execute them. There are no writes to the file system when a user takes an action, it all takes place in your database. So I'm not sure what permission issues you may be having.

The 500 error message above is pretty generic and just has recommendations. The problem could be a PHP issue, an outgoing connection to Facebook (to post the action) issue, server connectivity issue or something else. If you can get a hold of the PHP error log, that'd be the best way to narrow down if there's something in JFBConnect that isn't being handled properly and causing a PHP error. The next step would be to check the Apache logs to see why the 500 error is thrown.

Finally, the 500 error message above doesn't look like a standard Joomla error... it may be from your server itself, in which case it's almost definitely a server connection/resource issue.

I hope that helps,
Alex

No problem. I hope you get something going and we'd love to hear your resolution so we know the answer in case others run into the same issue.

Thanks, and good luck,
Alex
