jfbc send button was created by Terry
Hi
I have FB send button working with SCOpengraph tags and all is well with Safari and Chrome.

However if I use Opera or Facebook the last 3/4 menu items are blocked as is a readmore link further down the page.
After a minute or so the send button disappears and the menu items and readmore now function normally.

This also seems to work fine on Wins IE.

Whats happening, I'm sure this worked once and nothing has obviously changed.

I'm assuming you meant www.rspca-canterbury.ORG.uk/, correct?

If so, I just tested in Firefox, and I wasn't able to see this issue. When I go to the page, the News, Help Us, Events, and About Us links all work. The dropdown on Events works as well. I didn't see a Read More on the few pages I tested though.

I see you added some custom CSS to the .jfbcsend class for forcing the height to a 28px and setting the z-index to -99. I'm not sure if those were before or after you started seeing the issue, but you may want to try removing those styles if you're still having issues to see if that helps.

Beyond that, I'm not sure what would be the problem, but if you can let me know more about your tests, that may help (What version of firefox/Opera, what OS, etc).

Thanks,
Alex

Yes I am sorry the URL is indeed www.rspca-canterbury.org.uk

Could this be a mac only issue, it is certainly still happening on Firefox and Opera MAC.

the readmore link was on the home page . . .

as I am only using the FB send button is there other stuff I can turn off?

the custom code seemed to fix the problem on safari and chrome. . .

Latest mac os version and latest browser.

Also just tested on win7 machine with ie 9 and latest firefox.
IE worked well (surprise) But firefox prohibited access to the roll over / menu buttons from News onward . . .
Also stopped access readmore button on home page until the send icon disappears and then access returns to menus etc.

It looks to me that there is a setting of 1000px x 1000px which appears to cover the buttons??

Also why would the button vanish after a short while?

regards

Alright.. done a little research and testing. Unfortunately, I don't have a great answer yet, but do have some more questions which may help narrow things down. Originally, when I tested, I was actually using Chrome on a Mac.. so we're on the same system and I couldn't see the problem.

I just tested again and now I can. The difference is that I was not logged into Facebook.com in another tab.

So, can you tell me:
* When it doesn't work for you, are you logged into Facebook? I don't think it matters if you're logged into your site.
* Can you try adding the Like module in that same position to see if it has the same problem?
* Can you try switching the template (temporarily) to one of the standard Joomla templates (beez_20, for example) and enabling the Send button in that template. See if the problem persists.

Finally, the 1000x1000px div is supposed to automatically resize. For some reason it's not doing that when the user isn't logged into Facebook. After 45s, the Facebook Javascript library detects that the window didn't resize properly and therefore 'hides' the whole thing. So, after 45s, the Send button vanishes, but your menus start working again.

No great answers here, but at least we're making progress. I can't find any good bug reports on Facebook Developers area as to what may be causing this, but will keep investigating.

Thanks,
Alex
