Hi Again

Hi Again

its me TheLARPER!

if you visit my site at TheLARPER.com you can see that the facebook button is in a weird place. i want to move it and the links below it all the way to the side. How can I do this? Also is it possible to make the 'register for this site' 'forgot username' and 'forgot password' horizontal?

Re: Hi Again

I just mucked with a few things using only CSS and got it to look good (in my opinion), but you'll need to test in other browsers and see how it goes. To make the changes, try adding the following to your CSS files (a quick guess is that templates/rt_zephyr_j16/css/template.css would be the best file). You don't need the comments /* xxx */, they're there  to explain each change, but shouldn't hurt if you include them.:

Code:

.rt-grid-6 ul li {

float: right; /* make links horizontal */
margin-left: 10px; /* put some space between them */
list-style-type: none; /* get rid of the bullet points */
}

.rt-grid-6 form {
height: 46px; /* move the Login With Facebook button up by making the form 'seem' smaller */
}

.rt-grid-6 .fb_button {
float: right; /* move the button to the right of the page */
}

Test it out, and let us know if that's what you're looking for. If you need more control, you can do a template override of the login module, which let's you actually change the HTML to move and re-arrange things. Not too hard, but if the above works.. that should hopefully be all you need.

Good luck, and love the animation on the home page current/smile

Re: Hi Again

Check out this article, which explains template overrides, and actually uses the mod_jfbclogin module as it's example. Once created, you can go nuts with changing the ordering of things, but the file is probably one of our ugliest files in JFBConnect and needs an overhaul.. so if you run into any issues or have any questions about specific how-to's, just let us know.

Re: Hi Again

Yeah, you'll want to create that directory, and then just copy the default.php file from /modules/mod_jfbclogin/tmpl to that directory. Once there, it will automatically be detected by Joomla and used instead of the one in the /modules directory.. That's the beauty of template overrides.. you can easily change a layout file without worrying about those changes being overwritten when you upgrade the module. However, you should check to make sure that your override isn't missing any new features from a newer version when you upgrade.

Good luck,
Alex
