I get this error:

JFBConnect not found. Please reinstall.

I don't see any other errors on the site or admin area.

Also I tried installing a second module, same thing. It installs "successfully" then I go and confifure the settings of the module and activate and place it in location same not found error.

Is there something else that must be installed first?

You posted in the JFBConnect 1.5 forums. Are you still using Joomla 1.5? If so, please ensure you downloaded the Joomla 1.5 version, which is JFBConnect v4.3.0

If you're using Joomla 2.5 or 3.0, similarly, make sure you downloaded the correct version of those, but they should perform a check when installing to ensure they are on the right version.

Finally, I'd try re-installing the main com_jfbconnect_vxy_jxy.zip file again. That should attempt to copy all the necessary files over again. In the installer, make sure there are no error messages that appear.

Let me know if any of the above helps get you going. I'm not sure what the problem would be as that's not something we've heard of, but we'll gladly help investigate.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for the reply. Yes I do have the 1.5 version. I don't see the com_jfbconnect_vxy_jxy.zip file where can this be found?

Actually I unzipped the original file again. It appears something happened the first time, and not all of the files extracted. Now I actually see a Component. I will get that installed and see...

Ok, I installed the component successfully. I then activated the like module again, and now I get this on the front end. I'm putting this in the right side column. Please advise thanks

I'm very sorry for the delayed response. While we're no longer developing for Joomla 1.5, we still plan to continue supporting it for a while more. In the last few days we released updated versions for Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 3.x which add a lot of new features, including Google+ authentication. That's kept us more busy than normal, but we're very excited to get it out. I hope you have (or are planning) some Joomla 2.5+ sites so you can take advantage of the new releases.

Now, as to your problem, the tags displaying is usually a very simple problem to solve. The main causes of those showing is almost always one of the following:
* You haven't enabled the JFBCSystem plugin
* You have the System - Cache plugin enabled and it's not ordered last. The System - Cache plugin should be ordered after all other system plugins to ensure that it's caching the full page after it's rendered. Otherwise, it will cache the page before the tags are stripped and replaced with the correct contents.

I hope that helps get you going, but if not, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks. It looks like it maybe working now. I believe it was the first option JFBCSystem plugin.

And yes we are doing Joomla 2.5 & 3 sites, but some clients are still on older installs, until we can convince them to upgrade.

I understand the 'convince them' factor. It's never easy, just like it wasn't easy for us to decide to stop developing for (but not supporting) Joomla 1.5.

Either way, I'm glad to hear that you fixed the issue you were having, and should you run into anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
