After connecting via jfb, user is not directed to joomla registration page to complete additional required information, nor can they access their profile to updated it until they "confirm" their addres, which is not set as a requirement in the backend. Besides, the confirmation email they do receive doesn't even have a hyperlink so they can't confirm and ultiamtely aren't actually registered. This component is really bug-ridden and has wasted so much of my time (and money for the first time), this is really twisted.

You're definitely right, it appears to not be setting the approved flag correctly. Have you set the "Community Builder Integration" setting to Yes?

If you'd like us to look into it and determine the cause, just PM (--->) me an admin account to your site and we can try to investigate why.

The issue was that within Community Builder you had a field marked as required (Network Status). Because of this, Community Builder was unable to save your profile which then prevented importing the avatar/fields as well as approving the registration.

It seems to be working now. Test it out. We're putting together a setup guide now (hopefully be out the end of this week) and we'll put a note in there about this. Sorry for your issues.

Thank you. One last question. Is there a way to direct new users to another page to complete the rest of their profile (fields not filled out by facebook but included in CB) after registering with jfbconnect? Thanks.

Yup. The Configuration area of JFBConnect has a "New User Registration Redirect" url where you can send any new users. This is different than the redirect used in the login module which is used for returning users only.
