1. If a FB content comment is published on your site via JFBC module, and you want to edit/delete it.... is it possible to do so? Where/how?

2. Is it possible to link a FB content comment to the wall of a particular FB Fan Page?

Thanks!

Miamiman,
1) The comments are stored on Facebook's servers. As an admin for your Facebook application, when you're logged in, you'll have the ability to moderate each comment. One of the options is to 'Hide' the comment, which won't show it to you or any other users on your site. Since another user posted it though, it will still show up in their Wall. There are no ways to edit comments that you didn't make.

2) No, there's no way to push comments back to a specific Fan Page. It's something we're looking into (along with pushing other content and things to Facebook), but not even sure if what you're specifically asking for is possible.. we'll see.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Thank Alex,

1. From our site, I see that anyone logged in on facebook can "hide" the comment from themselves; but I do NOT see how to do so from an administrative point of view to hide it from everybody?

See sample link at: www.induguia.com/inicio/seguridad-electr...-ltda.-colombia.html

2. Ok!

Regards,

No problem for the help.

You look to be using an older version of JFBConnect. While it shouldn't be a problem, the newer 3.4.x versions fix the moderation issue you're seeing. I'd recommend upgrading, simply because there's a few new features and other improvements (see the full log below). However, if you prefer not to upgrade, which sometimes can be stressful, you should be able to fix the problem by doing the following:
* Go to the Open Graph tab in the Social Configuration area
* Add the following line:
app_id=xxxxx
Where xxxx is your Facebook Application ID (can be found in the Facebook API tab in the configuration area).

Again, in 3.4, we automatically set this value, but on older versions, you have to do it manually. When you do, please note that it may take up to 24 hours for the moderation tools to appear for your Facebook Administrator user's. While all user's can hide comments they don't want to see from only themselves, administrators can remove them altogether from that comment box.

Hope that helps, but if not, just let us know!

Everything working as expected. Thank you. I will upgrade to the latest version when I have time. It's always scary and time-consuming.

One Final Question:

When people are logged into their fb account they can comment on our sites via JFBC Comments {JFBCComments} without restriction; but as the site operator, we don't get to access their contact information, as per Kunena / Community Builder / JomSocial login via JFBC.

Is there a way to show the FB comment box and existing comments, but not allow the user to comment on our site, until logged-in?

Do you understand? Does that make sense?

Thanks!

Don't know when your subscription expires, but I'd recommend waiting a week or so to upgrade as 4.0 will be available soon. It shouldn't be a stomach churning update, but will have some improvements that will be required by Facebook later this year.. so might as well wait and only do one upgrade :)

As for comments, that's unfortunately not possible. We'd love it if there was a setting we could manipulate to disable commenting for some users (ie not logged in, don't want more comments on a page, etc), but Facebook doesn't provide it. Their feeling is that if the user is logged into Facebook, they can comment using the Facebook comment box.

Sorry that's not the answer you're looking for, but hopefully, it's not a deal breaker. As a moderator, you can of course remove any comments you don't want and you should get a notification whenever they happen. Not the ideal fix, but it's something.

Finally, please check out our signature on how you support JFBConnect by leaving a review.

Should you need anything else, you know where to find us,
