Weird question, surprised no one else has asked so it leads me to think it the answer is obviously no. Is there a way to have the messages post onto their wall and newsfeed without changing the status? For instance when you "like" something it is on your wall and in your friends' newsfeeds.

I have already received a couple complaints about it changing their actual status. If the answer is it's not possible than I will still keep the option on because it's too valuable to take off just wondering if this is even possible. Maybe I am not understanding something.

Ed,
Not a weird question.. or if it were, in regards to Facebook, everything would be a weird question.

Short answer: No, not that we know of. We simply tell Facebook "Here's a post for the user's wall", and that gets updated as their status (and inserted into their wall). Facebook's changed the behavior of these posts over time.. at one point, Like's didn't change the user's status.. but recently, they updated it so it did. The Login/Registration posts always updated the user's status. I'd recommend disabling the Login post though if getting complaints, cause that can post repeatedly (if they log in a lot), and isn't as 'active' of an action.. whereas Like'ing something is generally intentional and not unwarranted to put in their feed.

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions or suggestions, just let us know!
