Hi there,

First off, thanks for having this great product - I'm a newbie at website design but so far, this hasn't caused me very much misery.

However, there seems to be a bug with the FBC login module as I've been unable to log into my site (donicethings.org) using the FBC function.

This is irritating as I could do it previously on a test site but after working on it for a day, I couldn't log in anymore. Other users (I got my friends to try) are still able to - could it be a safety feature of Facebook that bans my account?

I'm using other plugins - "I'll Be There RSVP" and "jCommunity" on the test site but donicethings.org is a fresh installation which I've been unable to log into from the start. Also, I've been deleting my own user profile on the test page because I wanted to change the registration username.

Here's the full error page:

There's no safety features that should do this. I just created an account on your site and will try to login periodically to see if I get 'banned' or whatever is happening, but not seeing it now.

Have you deleted any users in the user admin or deleted any mappngs in the JFBConnect Usermap tab? I'm unsure why you'd be seeing this. If you figure anything out (scenerios that force it to happen, solutions, etc), keep us posted.

Thanks for the reply.

The problem is solved, but I've no idea how. Created a new site (previous one was a beta subdomain) and remapped the Facebook developer API to reflect the whole site. But the problem persisted even on the new site. A couple hours after, it was ok. Could it be a Facebook feature that prevents someone from logging in / out too often?

I've never run into it, and I've logged in and out MANY times during development over short periods.

Over the weekend there were numerous 'strange error' posts to this forum. We weren't able to recreate any, and most seem to have solved themselves. My best guess is that something at FB HQ wasn't happy, but I really don't know. Post here if it comes back and we'll keep an eye out.

I'm working in the code now.

Very weird situation appear before i take a look in the code.

It work perfectly for my girlfriend.

Not for me and 3 of my friends.

Now, i'm connected in my facebook account.

So, I click on facebook button in my jomsocial website and I'm redirected to a 500 error page.

I decided to reput the comments of the programmer from the code online to see variable and I see that the function getFBClient don't return anything.

But return something for my girlfriend.

I'll continue to investigate

We are investigating this. If it's the character that's causing you (and others) this problem, we'll have a solution out soon. We'd love to track it down, it's been a stubborn problem for some users.

Same error - no character issue, doesn't matter where the login module is redirecting to. I get the 500 error when I click the connect button. Site:

Any ideas on the problem? Thanks!
