Hello,

When I included JFBComment on my pages, I noticed that only facebook members can comment :
www.picturze.com/a/only_facebook_users.jpg

Whereas on the demo page, I can see that even non facebook members can comment :
www.picturze.com/a/non_facebook_users_allowed.jpg

Is this a setting? I didn't manage to find it. Can you show me what to do?

Regards

Any user who's logged into Facebook (even if they haven't logged into your site using JFBConnect) should be able to comment. There is no setting to disable that.

If you're seeing differently, let us know if you're using the module or the {} tag to insert the comment and we'll try to see if we've messed something up.

Hi Alex, I'm afraid you didn't get what I mean.

I would like that anyone, connected or not as a member to my website or connected or not to facebook is able to comment.

Currently, only people that are connected with facebook can comment. I would like that non facebookians are able to comment.
For more information, you can check my test website at developpementpersonnel.org/mirror/ (I gave you the password already, remember?).

Here is the page where I use the comments : developpementpersonnel.org/mirror/decouv...communaute/bienvenue
And indeed I use your code { JFBCComments} to display it.
Just visit it while you are not connected to your facebook account, and you will see that you can't write a comment.

Thanks for your support!

What browser are you using?

I used Chrome to visit the page. I was not logged into Facebook in another tab. I saw the comment box with the 'default' avatar picture. I typed a comment, and it asked me to log into Facebook. I did, and the comment was posted.

Are you seeing a blank area, or is the comment box simply not letting you post?

Thanks!

Sounds to me like he wants all users to be able to comment in the box without having to log into facebook.

That's not possible to our knowledge, if that's how it's working on our demo site, please let us know. We'll definitely investigate what's different because, I agree, that would be a good feature. However, it would be prone to spam and other stuff if there's no 'user' to attach the comments too.

Thanks bucsweb, that's what i need!

@Alzander : indeed, in your demo site, anyone can comment. I agree it could cause spam, but i think it would be a great feature

I'm actually very confused. On the Social Modules page, below, I can see that there are indeed posts that do not link to a Facebook account (and even one that says "new comment without login"). When I try to post a comment when not logged in though, it pops up the Facebook login window.

Do you see something different? We're going to be adding JFBComments to our blog articles here soon, and would actually like open-commenting like this.. but from the Facebook documentation that I just looked over again, I don't see how this is configured... or working on our site?

I will check that 4 u.

Actually now I stumbled upon a page about IntenseDebate, which is a system to host comments, I bet you know it already. And this system supports now facebook connect:
support.intensedebate.com/comment-settings/facebook-connect/

I think that integrating IntenseDebate system with JFBConnect would be really good, because IntenseDebate helps to fight spam very efficiently (it is based on the anti-spam engine of Wordpress). And I think I would adopt this system. What do you think?

Hello Alex,

Now I understand why you were confused about my question. In fact, I was looking at the wrong demo site. I was checking this one:
www.khawaib.co.uk/demo/index.php?option=...ticle&id=5&Itemid=12
which is the demo page for this extension : extensions.joomla.org/extensions/social-...ocial-comments/12327

I thought this was your extension :/ ...

Maybe you can get inspired by how it works.

About the idea of integrating IntenseDebate, what do you think about that? It really gets rid of the spam problem, don't you think?
Or maybe you know another way for this spam problem?

Best regards
