Even after double checking the settings of my Facebook app, JFBConnect keeps complaining:
Facebook API Error: error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt CApath: none
Facebook API Error: error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt CApath: none
and then:
WARNING: POSSIBLE MISCONFIGURATION
We suggest updating your Connect URL to: http://www.mydomain.com/
You can do this by visiting: Facebook Developers
Select your application->Edit Settings->Connect URL in the Connect section
I did so multiple times to no avail.

Looking at the error verbose, one is inclined to think that openSSL should be installed on the server. Is it?

Finally, with JFBC 2.6.x everything was running smoothly.

Thank you.

Got it.

Configuration > Facebook API Configuration > Disable SSL Certificate Validation: YES.

Glad you solved it. We added that setting to 3.0.1 after it became apparent there were enough (though very few) servers that didn't seem to like Facebook's SSL certificate.

The 2.6 version used a whole different system, which didn't require SSL. That's why you only noticed the problem on upgrading.
