Hi,

I checked the overview page an there is no Facebook application information.
The application name and callback url is empty. I have created almost a full application in Facebook, although it is not needed.

Any ideas?
I am using the RC3 and Joomla 1.59 with Jomsocial.

The developper_website is: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="dev.toldiandco.com/">dev.toldiandco.com/ you will see that the Facebook login is not even functioning . Yet..
Thank You.

Csaba

No, you shouldn't need to create the entire application. Mainly, you need to set the name and the callback url.

Are you getting an error on the JFBConnect homepage? When the secret/API keys don't match, we provide the Facebook error that comes back from them. If there is no error, can you try removing the last few characters from either the secret or API keys and make sure an error does appear? This will help determine if there actually is communication with Facebook.

Finally, can you provide your PHP version? This can be found in "Help->System Info"

Hi,

I have figured out that facebook does not like the development page because it is not a real domain, just a subdomain.
Do you think that it still should work?

Authentication Callback URLs <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="dev.toldiandco.com">dev.toldiandco.com
Post-Authorise Callback URL <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="dev.toldiandco.com">dev.toldiandco.com
Post-Remove Callback URL <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="dev.toldiandco.com">dev.toldiandco.com

Regarding the PHP: it is version5

There is no error just the page without the application name and callbackurl.

It certainly doesn't mind subdomains (our demo site is a subdomain at <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="facebook.sourcecoast.com">facebook.sourcecoast.com).

However, those Facebook people are tricky. I know they don't allow Facebook application names with "facebook" or even "fb" in the name anywhere. It's possible they don't like "dev" as the subdomain name. I'm drawing at straws here, because I really don't know why it's not showing up.

Just to get more specific, can you provide the exact version of PHP? There are some known issues with 5.1 (and 5.0x I'd presume) that will be patched in an upcoming release. 5.2+ isn't affected. Also, can you try removing some characters from either the API or secret key and saving to see if you get an error? Again, it will help us establish if communication with FBC is there.

Hi,

unfortunatelly I did nor receive any email about your comment so I could not answer earlier.
What I suggest is that I set up the site again, because of certain template errors we could not solve, and maybe you could insert some screenshots about configuring the facebook api.
This is not covered by your video.

And I will get back to you as soon as the site is up again. This takes a few days, since I cannot use the backup files to avoid this template error.. :(

So again, i am kindly asking you to provide some Screenshots about configuring the Facebook api on the facebook site.

Thank you
Best Regards,

Csaba

Hi,

Well what I know that the module works differently on different templates, and if the facebook icon (blue F) is visible then click it and gives information about what is wrong. Why are you sure that the Facebook config is good?
If it is really good, then I would appreciate if you could mail me some screenshots, beacuse I could not do it right.
My mail address is: <!-- e --><a href="This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.">This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

What I can offer for you, I test the config with my username and password on my site, then you have another result.
ps: I have read that the stable version should be out already. Which one are you using?
Cheers

Attached are 2 photos of our facebook.sourcecoast.com app setup and overview page. It sounds like your missing the callback url showing up on the Overview page of JFBConnect. Can you look at the the app page setup to see what's different there?
