I'm thinking of renewing my subscription, but I have a 3 questions first.

1) I use 1.5.7 version of Joomla with friendly URLs on. The previous subscription I had bought didn't support counting the "Likes" on from the fanpage wall and article. Is it now possible?

2) I use bit.ly when I share on the wall new links to my articles. Will your stuff support counting it together on the wall and under the article on the website?

3) Did you think about creating a plug-in which imports comment from fanpage wall straight into Disqus comment module? I meant... comment made to some particular link shared on fanpage wall will be shown in Disqus thread under the article on the website? Hope clear enough ;)

We are glad to hear you like our extension and are considering renewing your subscription.

well, regardless of the fact that 1.5.7 was out over 2 years ago and the current version is 1.5.25, Likes are controlled by FB and not by JFBC. JFBC is a tool to ease the process of displaying the counter and to integrate the LIKE button in the website.
as for the counter itself, you can take a look at the Social Module demo and see part (if not all) that JFBC allows in action.

FB counts/stores Comments and Likes based on the URL. from FB's point of view domain.com/my_very_long_link_to_a_favorite_page.html is different than bit.ly/somecode even if it actually points to the same page.
so, if someone would press LIKE or COMMENT on a bit.ly link shared on the FB's wall JFBC would not be able to read it, since JFBC only knows the Joomla's version of the URL (and Joomla doesn't know the bit.ly URL).
if that wasn't clear, the problem you are mentioning is not a JFBC. this is how FB works, and it would happen with any other extension (like JFBC) or CMS (like Joomla).

we will consider future support for bit.ly, but since most of the responsibility falls on Joomla we will have to wait a bit longer than expected.

well, this might be a nice feature, but there are a few problems with this idea:
  • FB Comments are store in FB Databases, while Disqus comments are stored on theirs.
  • we would have to create a full integration with the fanpage comments, something we don't have at the moment.
  • we would have to fully integration with Disqus (something not in JFBC plans at the moment).
  • any such import/export (sync) will have to be fully automated and fully controlled by joomla, which means that a full component will have track what was already imported and what not, and compare it all the time to sync alive.
  • and probably there are some more issue I couldn't think about...

but (!!!), we will keep that in mind for future releases, and if that would possible we will consider such integration.
thanks for the idea though.

Thanks for reply.

OK, let's forget for a moment about bit.ly.

For me the most important is such a function like here:
wordpress.org/extend/plugins/seo-facebook-comments/

Is it possible with your product or not?

Hello,
JFBC does show Facebook comments on each page, but unfortunately it does not import the comments into Joomla's Database. As far as we know there is no such tool for Joomla, and comments are not really an SEO advantage (although you might want to consult an SEO Expert on this matter).
