Integrating facebook invite etc with Alpha user points

We're already using the edge create events to notify the admin that a Like has been clicked or a new Comment has been made. It should be easy to add AUP integration for those 2 events, as well as registering or connecting accounts. We'll have to look into AUP's developer docs a little bit to understand the best way to do that, as well as figure out ways to make the events not too gameable (liking->unliking->liking, repeated comments, etc), but I'm sure we can come up with something.

It seems like now's a good time to start adding hooks for AUP.. but again, we'll have to re-evaluate when it's time to finalize the feature-set for 4.1.

Looked at the doc you sent, thanks! I agree, it seems pretty easy, and that they've taken care of a bit of the work for checking for shenanigans. We'll definitely be looking into this for the 4.1 release to see if we can push it in there. The biggest issue for us is simply figuring out the best way to integrate it. Likely, it will be a plugin, like our profile plugins, so that it doesn't waste execution time on sites that don't have AUP installed.

With our 4.1 release, we're overhauling the Requests/Invitation system, and hoping to have the first support for AUP in that release for users sending requests/invites to their friends. The whole request system is in development now, so can't guarantee it will be in this release, but some AUP support is definitely coming over the next few months.

For adding AUP to the new Requests feature, we're working on how to do this. Requests were built with AUP in mind, but we didn't have the time to add it before the release. We're in the investigation phase now for this, and recommend following the topic below where we're hoping to post some code later this month to test:

We're expecting more AUP integration points in the 4.2 release (though no guarantees). If testing from our initial experiments in the post above goes well though, we'll definitely add more.

The 4.2 release will definitely have support for AUP. We've already provided code to a few users to test AUP for awarding points after a user sends a Request and for Like'ing or Commenting on pages of the site. If you subscribe, and are ok implementing a little code, we can gladly help you as well.
