Right now, we only register into the default registration group. However, the next release, JFBConnect v7.1, will let you (the admin) select which group(s) a social network user will register into. You'll be able to select single or multiple groups for the user to be put into, but it will not be a user-choice.As far as jfbconnect registration component, does it have any function built in to assign new registrations to different acl user groups or does it only allow registration from other social network accounts to joomla's default single registration group for access?
Unfortunately, we won't support letting the user choose their group. That is another step I could see us investigating, but I don't want to give any timelines on when that would happen. There's extra security required in implementing that to prevent a user escalating them into a admin-type role, which can obviously have some bad results. If not, can you recommend any other components that can do this yet work with jfbconnect? I am not looking for a full bells and whistles paid membership, subscription registration, acl manager type of option. All it needs to do is allow users to choose an access/group to join at registration based on the groups I set up for their access.
No. What I said may be confusing. From a security standpoint its even riskier then sharing data and account information across social network servers?
