We haven't run into any issues with 3.3.1 and no one else has reported similar issues.

Can you let us know what specifically is happening:
* If you set the Configuration -> Enable Error Reporting setting to 'yes' in JFBConnect, do you get any error messages on logging in?
* Does this only happen to existing users, or on new registrations as well?
* Can you try disabling caching and SEF URLs in Joomla to see if that temporarily fixes the problem?

Let us know anything you find, and we'll gladly help however we can.

Thanks,
Alex

I have "Automatic Registration" enabled and the component keeps redirecting to register. Unless I misunderstood how this function works. I assumed that it would automatically create a user account based on their social network login.

When you enable the Automatic registration feature, that should automatically create a new Joomla account for the user if they don't already have one. The only exception to this is Twitter, since it doesn't provide an email address. In that case, the user must go through a form-based registration to at least provide their email address.

I just tried to register and was brought to the standard Joomla registration page. That shouldn't normally happen with JFBConnect as it shouldn't ever redirect to that page. We have our own registration page that we use for registration, when required.

Can you tell me:
* Do you have any profile management extensions on your site (Community Builder, JomSocial, etc)?
* Do you have any System or User plugins that alter the registration process or are meant to redirect the user when they are logging in? If so, try to disable them.

If none of those help narrow things down, we'll have to ask for admin credentials to your site to investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

I did have FBConnect set to use Joomla's registration. As for community software. I do not have any installed. As for plugins none that I am aware of. I would be happy give you access if you wanted to check for your self.

Thanks for your patience and for the administrator credentials.

I just entered the admin area and the "Enable Automatic Registration" setting was set to "No". I switched it to "Yes" and then tried to register. My account was automatically created, as expected. I was also able to logout and back in again using Facebook.

Can you tell me if you're still having issues and, if so, what they are? I think that setting was the problem you were having. I'm not seeing any redirection loops or other authentication issues.

Finally, the Auto Registration setting has a bug right now where the "Yes" is in red and the "No" is in green. That was likely where your confusion was coming from. The 6.1 release, later this month, will use the proper colors.

I hope that helps, but if not, please let me know what you're testing and how it isn't working.

Thanks,
Alex

I just figured why I really had the issue to begin with. JFBConnect does NOT link users by name only by email. You should really change that. Many people my self included use certain email accounts for different things.
