Hi Alex

When selecting "Bottom" for the "Front Page View" & "Category View" for the JFBC > Social > Contnet Plug-in Like buttons, they at first, didn't show at all.

I tried 'Bottom & Top', and they showed up at only the top (in Front Page View).

In Article view, the Bottom position works perfectly.

This is JFBC 6.0.6 on Joomla 3.3.0, using the YooNano3 template.

BTW: Ditto the above with the Comments. Fine in Article view, don't show in Front Page and Category views.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Alex

Hmmm. I'm not sure what's going on there. First, please disable any caching you have enabled in Joomla's Global Config, your template, and any other caching extensions. The issues may resolve themselves once caching is removed from the equation. Then, configure things as you want and re-enable caching.

If that doesn't help, can you configure things in a 'bad' state and let me know a URL where we can see things going south? We'll gladly look into it further once we can see the unexpected behavior.

Thanks,
Alex

Hmmmmm is right. ;-)
I've disabled the cache and gzip, and the 'compression' in YooNano3. (however, via ftp, in the cache folder, new 'widgetkit' and yoonano folders are generated - don't know why)

They're still not showing at the bottom.
I tried disabling all modules, to no avail.

I'm leaving it in the 'Bottom' (not showing) position.

One odd thing that may help you troubleshoot: I've noticed that in the JFBC component > Social area, I have to 'Save' twice for a changed setting.

I'll make you a login and send by pm - you may need it ;-)

Thanks muchly for this...
;-)

A quick update.
I realized JomSocial wasn't updated to the latest, latest, LATEST (3.2.0.5), so did so, and also reinstalled JFBC. A lot of 'kinks' disappeared.

However, the social buttons are still not showing at the bottom in Front Page View.

ps. client wanted to test 'em, so have left at the top. If you get a chance to figure it out, and you're logged in, then go ahead and 'bottom them out' ;-) Thanks.

Another update, Alex....

Client insisted on taking the site live. (surprise, surprise ;-)

Therefore, please adjust the login info I pm'd you last week. (leave the .../stage_2014_B/... out of it. ;-)

ps. i'm turning on caching and gzip - feel free to turn them off if need be.

And .... thanks again.

Alexio,
Very sorry for the delay in investigating this. I tried to today, but the administrator area redirects to the front-page. After a 2nd attempt, I believe I've been blocked.

Can you Private Message me how to get around whatever security you have enabled?

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for the updated info. Not sure why I couldn't get in before, but could now.

I toggled the positioning of the buttons and tried a few other things to narrow down what's going wrong. After that, we setup a dev site with a similar configuration and were able to recreate the issue. The problem only seems to occur on articles with Read More links when displayed in category layouts. If there is no Read More, then the buttons will display.

We're investigating this further and will hopefully have a code change that should make things work for you soon. We'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the report, and your patience,
Alex

Sorry, but not yet. We're in development for the 6.1 release right now, and this is a task on the to-do list for either this weekend or early next week. If we have a quick solution (just a few lines of code), we'll definitely provide it once we get it.

Thanks for your patience,
Alex
