Topic-icon Profile plugins enabled but not showing under Profiles in JFBConnect

Hi,

I'm running Joomla 3.2.3 with JFBBConnect 6.0.6 and when I enable the Social Profile plugins and then go to the JFBConnect component and click on 'Profiles' there is a message saying:

"No JFBConnect Profile plugins are currently enabled. "

I've cleared my cache, enabled/disabled/re-enabled, run the auto-tune etc but the plugins just do not appear.

Please can someone let me know what could be causing this problem?

Do you think it's a problem with Joomla 3.2.3?

Thanks and regards.

It shouldn't be a problem with Joomla 3.2.3. My best guess is that you've enabled socialprofile plugins for extensions you don't have installed. Generally, JFBConnect will only install the socialprofile plugins for 3rd party extensions that are already on your site. If you've installed the plugins on your own though, they would show up in the Plugin Manager, but won't actually work since they don't have the required component (JomSocial, EasySocial, Community Builder, etc) to integrate with.

Can you let me know what plugin you've enabled and ensure that it's corresponding extension is installed?

Let me know, and if that doesn't help, we'll gladly help investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I left this for a while and have now come back to it. I've installed only 3 social profile plugins, one for jomsocial, one for joomla and one for the custom DB. I've tried to enable only the Jomsocial, then Jomsocial and Joomla and then all 3 but no matter what combination I try I cannot see the profile settings appear in the Profiles tab of the JFBConnect extension. By the way I'm using Jomsocial v3.1.1

I have installed and configured this extension in the past with different versions and I have seen this work so I'm familiar with what it should look like.

Unfortunately I cannot provide you with FTP or admin access as this is a private site for a client that will not allow 3rd party access.

Are you able to suggest where we can look to troubleshoot this?

Thanks and regards.

I've installed only 3 social profile plugins, one for jomsocial, one for joomla and one for the custom DB.

You shouldn't need to manually install any profile plugins. If you're doing so, then that's probably the issue. Please install the main JFBConnect component using the Joomla installer. On the post-installation screen, it should give a listing of all add-ons that were installed. Check the Social Profiles section for the Custom DB, Joomla and JomSocial plugins to make sure they were installed correctly.

If JFBConnect isn't installing those automatically, it's an indication of something going wrong. If you have to install them manually, it's possible you're installing an older or incompatible version of those plugins.

If things do seem to be installed correctly, please go to the Installer -> Manage area of Joomla. Then, search for the social profile plugins and let me know the exact versions of each plugin that are installed. Also, make sure they are published there.

Let em know if that helps get you going or if you run into any other issues.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I didn't install them manually and it is 6.0.6

Good news is I finally got it to work. I enabled all 3 plugins and finally it showed up. I know I was trying different combinations but perhaps I didn't have all 3 enabled at the same time.

Thanks again.

You definitely shouldn't have to enable all 3 for them to display. Each one works on its own and there's no relationship between them, so enabling one at a time should show just that one.

Either way, for whatever reason, I'm glad things are working for you now. If you run into any other issues or have any other questions or feedback, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Now that is weird

Did not change anything
Went and did some work
Came back and now they are they
SO
For any others with the same issue, before going crazy changing settings, wait an hour and hopefully you should experience the same as me.

It seems like it's a setting with the Joomla Caching option in the Global Configuration area. If that's set to "Conservative", on some sites, the plugins won't appear until the cache refreshes. We're looking into the issue. For now, just turn off caching, temporarily, load the Profiles page, and then you can re-enable caching as expected.

I hope that helps,
Alex
