Hello,

I am having problems setting up k2 open graph for when a user reads a k2 item. I have successfully set up open graph for normal joomla articles, that activity gets posted to the facebook timeline when users read those, just not k2 items.

This is how I have the k2 object setup in JFBCONNECT

And here is the error the activity log gives when trying to read a k2 article

Any help with setting k2 up will be much appreciated. Also do I set the objects up on facebook? or when JFB creates them do they get added to the objects in facebook app automatically?

Thanks in advance.

There shouldn't be any special configuration for K2 articles vs Joomla articles. The 'article' object and 'news.reads' action are both built-in Open Graph features of Facebook, so you don't need to configure them there.

The og:website type means that something wrong is happening on the page being read, either:
* The page is marked as "Registered" so that Facebook can't 'see' the actual Open Graph tags on the page and is instead being redirected to your home page
* Some other extension is setting the og:type incorrectly on your K2 content

I hope that helps explain, but if you still can't get it to work, let me know a URL of your K2 articles and we'll investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

No that does not work, I have used opengraphs in built k2 object, and assigned the same action I use for normal joomla articles.

The joomla articles work but not the k2 items. This is the error presented:

(#3502) Object at URL www.opotiki.net.nz/news/item/2-unidentif...found-at-ohope-beach has og:type of 'website'. The property 'article' requires an object of og:type 'article'.

Any suggestions? Why don't I just send you admin access and you can set it all up for me because I have spent the last 4 days trying to set this damn component up to work without success on most functions.
