Hi All,

When I or anybody is logging in via the SCLogin extension from a normal Joomla account, not a FB, Twitter or Google+ one (even though these are setup for this site) once logged in it just defaults to the homepage www.swswsws.co.uk.

I have checked the settings in;

Is there any other elements, plugin or whatever that I'm missing and thus causing the issue I'm experiencing?

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Rob

The SCLogin module has it's own setting for Login Redirection. You'll want to set that as well. That gives more flexibility for setting a redirection for social network logins vs standard Joomla logins.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thank you for the reply.

I have both SCLogin and FBConnect setup to redirect upon login to a Jomsocial page, however I have "Registration" component set as Joomla... does it need to be set to "Jomsocial" for either SCLogin or FBConnect redirection upon login to redirect to any Jomsocial based page?

Regards,
Rob

The "Registration Component" doesn't play a part in this. That's only used when JFBConnect needs to redirect the user to fill out a registration form. It does not affect how the user is redirected after logging in in either mode.

If you're always being redirected to the home page regardless of that setting, I'd recommend:
* Checking that you don't have any User plugins enabled which may be redirecting the user. If so, disable them.
* Try with SEF URLs disabled to see if that works
* Turn of any caching you may have enabled in Joomla or 3rd party extensions

If any of those above options fix the issue, let me know and we'll gladly help figure out what the issue is.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the reply as always.

I've gone through my plugins list and can't see anything jumping out at me regarding redirect and the few that have redirect properties I disabled, cleared cache and so forth but still no change.

I've also gone in to Global Config>System>Cache = Disabled already. Also disabled SEF URLs and again cleared cache and so forth but again made no difference, so I'm stuck. :(

Regards,
Rob

Not sure either then. Can you private message me with a set of admin credentials and we'll gladly investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

Rob,
Thanks for sending the PM with access. First thing I noticed when getting into the admin area is that you have almost 200 plugins enabled. I'd highly, highly recommend going through each one to ensure they are necessary for your site. Each plugin will slightly slow down the loading time of each page, which can add up to a lot. Additionally, more plugins can cause unwanted behavior, possibly like this redirection issue. And finally, each plugin opens your site up to more risk in case one of those plugins has a security issue.

If you need every plugin enabled, no problem, but just letting you know something we like to notify people about.

Now, as to your issue, I can't find a reason for the redirect to not work. However, I just tried to register with Facebook using JFBConnect and was brought to the standard Joomla login page. My account was not created and (of course) I wasn't logged in. So, basic authentication doesn't seem to be working for me.

In the plugin manager, I see multiple plugins that could be the problem:
* EasyCalcCheck Plus (maybe the captcha is thinking I'm a spammer)
* EUCookieDirective - Cookies are definitely required to be enabled
* Session Keeper - Not sure what this does, but messing with sessions in general can be a problem
* AcyMailing - Auto-subscribe - We should work with this, but again, anything during registration could be causing issues
* Authentication - Cookie - This is not a standard Joomla module. Not sure what it does
There's likely others that could be related to registration, but I just don't know all the plugins you have enabled.

Have you seen any issues with the actual registration portion of Facebook? You mention the redirection above, but I can't even get to that point, and I'm not sure why.

I hope that helps get you started, but if you have any questions, obviously just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
