Just wondering if you've come up with any JEvents integration yet? I joined their membership to get their plugin but there seems to be a bit of an issue with the way they have written the plugin. Essnetially it seems that they wrote it to include their own app id and code and uses their own url. Now this seems to work for alot of folk who aren't using their own app with id etc but using two is throwing up all manner of display errors and using the like or share just throws up browser 500 errors. So effectively their plugin is useless untill they re-write it to use the users site details not theirs.

So really just wondering if there's a way to add your plugin into JEvents, even it's just a rudimentary fix untill they release a usable plugin of their own.

Cheers,

Rob

Rob,
We don't have any jEvents integration right now. This year, we're planning a lot of integration with a ton of different extensions, and jEvents is on that investigation list.

Honestly though, I haven't used jEvents in at least a few years. I'm sure it's still good, I just haven't had a need. As for the integration you're talking about, can you explain it a bit more? I'm not sure what they support and/or what you're looking for.

Let me know, and we'll help how we can (or add it as a feature investigation for a future release).

Thanks,
Alex

All I'm really wanting to do is add a like and share button to an events page. Title of the event for desription on a share. Would also be great if I could get JEvents to automatically add the avatar of the poster, the same way your plugin applies an avatar to the kunena profile and then use that in the og share image. I think on the avatar side of things it would definately be better if it came from your plugin as alot of integration is already happening and I find with joomla the more plugins and modules you have all trying to do the same thing the more problems and conflicts seem to arise. You seem to have a better handle on the FB integration than they do too, they tell me I can't have the like and share button next to each other as FB generates and places the like text.... You seem to have managed it fine though as has every other website which has a nice layout. It seems to me they are saying you can't have what every other website has because FB won't let us, not, sorry we don't know how to do it.

It would also be fantastic if the og posted directly to my sites FB page, simple info as well. Title, touch of description from the event description and the user avatar. I ask alot but JEvents don't seem to have a grasp on it.

They are pretty good at what they do but integration with FB doesn't seem to be their forte. Personally I'm not a huge fan of FB but I can see it has massive potential and a huge reach.

Never mind, they have re-written the plugin and sorted out the layout issues from the previous version. Great support from them as well as yourself.

Glad to hear you got something going that you're happy with. As noted, more integration with other extensions is on our plate, but I don't know when we'd have something specific for JEvents.

As always though, should you need anything else or have any questions, just let me know!

Thanks,
Alex
