Me again Alex,

Seems after we got Twitter OAuth working I started to see a weird issue with Facebook login, which was previously working. Now when I click the Login with Facebook button I get the message that it is logging in with my Facebook credentials, it disappears, refreshes the screen, then it's right back to the login screen. The only way I can get it to work part of the time is if I purge my browser cache. I tried on multiple computers and all had the same issue so it's not isolated to my machine. This is puzzling since I'm not using caching on my site as it's a social network and I don't want content cached.

Thoughts on why this is now acting up? Surely it has nothing to do with the server time being in UTC does it?

Something else I just noticed is that when I try to use Autotune to detect any errors I get the below messages although my subscription ID is entered and I can see this on the autotunes screen: User: Tracy xxxxx (masked for security) Subscription: JFBConnectExpires: Jun 02, 2014 (Active)Last Checked: 2013/12/04

I was able to resolve both issues I was seeing.

1. ExpiresHeader plugin was causing the issue. Once I disabled it the cache issues were resolved.

2. AutoTune - Not sure why but my JFBConnect Subscription ID changed which is why it wouldn't validate my subscription. Very weird.

Tracy,
Sorry I didn't back to you sooner, and glad you got things worked out in the meantime. First, the UTC / correct time on the server shouldn't cause any problems for, frankly, anything. Just saying that so you don't worry about it going forward. As for the other issues:

1) ExpiresHeader plugin was causing the issue. Once I disabled it the cache issues were resolved.

Great! Just out of curiosity, can you tell me what the ExpiresHeader plugin does? Haven't heard of that, and not sure what it's purpose is. Also, if it's something you really wanted to have enabled, it'd be good for us to know about so we can investigate further as to whether we can (or should) do something to be compatible with it.

2. AutoTune - Not sure why but my JFBConnect Subscription ID changed which is why it wouldn't validate my subscription. Very weird.

Your subscriber ID is automatically generated based on a few things unique to each user. One of those is your password. When you change your password, your subscriber ID updates as well. My guess is that's what caused yours to change.

I hope that helps explain. As always though, should you have any questions, feedback or comments, just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I periodically run a performance test on my site using gtmetrix.com. It identified several conflicts with ExpiresHeader which lead me to download the plugin. It worked however once I got my site fine tuned it didn't seem to make much of a difference. If anything it caused other issues. You shouldn't have to worry about tweaking JFBConnect to account for it.

Thanks as always for your help.

Tracy

Thanks for the explanation. Doesn't sound like something we'll investigate for now.

Best of luck,
Alex
