Topic-icon users registering with Instagram also need to do a normal registration

hello there!
after setting up login with Instagram a long (long...) time ago on 1 of my sites, i checked it out again to see it's really working.

i noticed that when a user is registering with instagram, they are directed to the normal joomla registration page to choose a password & enter their username.
JFBC is set to 'automatic registration, and it's working well with the FB login.

since it's been so long since i've set it up, i read the documentation again: www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/ -network-applications/instagram-application-setup
i noticed some things have changed - and the instagram app is now part of the FB app.
i went through step 4 in the link and found out that i don't have instagram app set up in my FB app.

however - the registration is still working, but require a joomla registration as well.

i would like my users to be able to register with instagram automatically, same way they do with FB.

can you please advise what is the best course of action?
should i delete my existing app on instagram and add a new one via my FB app?
should i just add it via the FB app without deleting?
and should i change / delete the instagram credentials in JFBC configurations?

thank you very much

Older apps may still work currently, but they are deprecated and support will be removed this year. We would recommend setting up a new application. You don't need to delete your existing app. Just create a new one in your FB app and change your client ID and secret in the JFBConnect configuration area.

Joomla requires certain pieces of information to create an account. In general, if you have automatic registration enabled and the registration process still goes to our mini-registration page, it usually means that an email address or other required profile info were not able to be fetched from the social network. The user is then redirected to that page to grab the required info.
