I believe I had set up our website to use jfbconnect for joomla many months ago, but didn't actually start using it until recently. It's now saying my app needs to go through a review process. Does anyone know how to do this?

It appears the facebook login is working for our site, but there's still a message at the top of the developer.facebook.com site under my account that states:

"Since your app was not submitted for App Review, and made no API calls 28-days prior to the August 1, 2018 deadline, access to the following permissions or features has been removed:"

It directs me to the following blog post:

developers.facebook.com/blog/post/2018/0...k-app-review-update/

Ideas on how to go through this process most quickly would be appreciated.

Here's a link to the message I receive after logging in:

I've located your App Review doc (www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/facebook-app-review) that discusses screencasts. We're only using facebook for basic login functions.

- How do I know if I need to go through this review process?
- Is there supposed to be some subsequent page after using facebook to login where I can view what information facebook uses from the user's account?

The site we are developing is linuxsecurity.com/

The message you posted is a warning that will only show to admins on your site. Normal users that try to register with Facebook will not see that message about requiring app review.

With that said, if you want to be able to pull additional information from Facebook beyond name and email address, you'll need to go through the review process. We described the purpose of the app review process in a recent blog post, App Review Explained .

As for going through the process, you need to follow the steps in the app review section in the FB Developer Area. Mainly, you need to describe why you want those permissions and what you're going to do with them. Facebook mainly wants to make sure you're not trying to yank a lot of data from your users. Every site is different on how it imports and uses data, so we can't provide a one size fits all description to put, but hopefully the above gives an idea of the process.

I hope that helps, but if you need anything else, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
