I am having difficulty in setting up a social stream much like you have on your site.

- I have a facebook account with a facebook page.
- I setup ID and secret key in the JFBConnect
- Added the manage_pages permission in facebook configuration tab in JFBC
- I activated the log in with Facebook feature
- Log in with facebook account but get no prompt for managin pages

I am certain I have done something wrong, but I cannot figure out how to discover it. Can you help?

EDIT#1: Ok I followed the instructions on some older threads and had the account I logged into the site as the administrator of the app. I must have overlooked this somehow.
So currently I can post from an article from the site to my facebook page.

- How can I make the post not to my personal profile, but to the Business page?
- Do I need to be the owner or administrator of the Business page?
- How can I make the posts from my Business page stream to my website?

EDIT #2: This is more for me trying to realize how this works.
- The answer to my first question is to set up the FB page owner account and set the page selection below it.
- The FB account that will be set as owner has to be the owner and/or admin of the FB page.
- Simply make a post from the FB page as the Business page account, not the personal user.

Added the manage_pages permission in facebook configuration tab in JFBC

You should not add this to configuration tab. When you 1) create a channel, 2) select a channel owner, and 3) then hit Save in the channel - JFBConnect will then remember that this channel owner needs to have the manage_pages permission. Then when you next log in via that FB user on the front-end, the permission will be requested. Otherwise, if you add this to the configuration area, the permission will be requested for ALL users logging in via Facebook on your site, not just the channel owner.

Log in with facebook account but get no prompt for managin pages

As mentioned above, you should not add the permission in the way that you were doing. After editing the channel and setting the owner, if you're still having trouble getting this permission prompt please let me know.

How can I make the post not to my personal profile, but to the Business page?

When you set up the channel, the type should be "Page" not "Profile".

Do I need to be the owner or administrator of the Business page?

Yes, you will need to at least have an administrator role.

How can I make the posts from my Business page stream to my website?

This can be accomplished with the SCSocialStream module, as detailed here

Simply make a post from the FB page as the Business page account, not the personal user.

When you have Provider > Facebook and Type > Page selected, there will be an additional option for "Post as Page". This is what you will need to set to Yes in order for the posts to be attributed to the page instead of the channel owner.

I think I have addressed your questions, but let me know if I missed something. If you have not already, I would also highly encourage you to review our documentation on channel setup . It should hopefully clear up some of these questions too.

Thank you for the reply. I think you cleared up much (if not all) of the confusion I had about how to set it up. It now works and looks amazing! Thank you again :)

Also something I noticed: The owner of the site had a Twitter account to a different email so I had him log in with Twitter account to create a new joomla account. When he logged in with his other admin account which is connected to facebook only he was able to make posts to Twitter as well. I thought I had to merge the accounts into one (somehow). I am so glad that wasn't the case. :)

Glad to hear you got things going. There's no doubt some complexity to getting things setup, but we've tried to make it as easy as possible.. though there's always more we're looking to do.

As for the owner's account, yes, JFBConnect can merger multiple accounts together automatically, even if they use different email addresses for the social network. One Joomla account can be logged into from all of the social networks, making for a very flexible system.

If you run into anything else or have any questions going forward, just let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Thanks,
Alex
