Hi,

I have been running a campaign on Facebook for registrations on my site lifesbest.pt . So far, regrettably, no site registrations from the campaign.

So, I asked a friend to invite me from my site using the JFBConnect button. I received the invitation on Facebook. The link back to register is

apps.facebook.com/comunidade-lifesbest/?..._id=1462026992585865

When I click that link, my site stays on the home page showing the link:

www.lifesbest.pt/pt/?option=com_easysocial&view=registration

and nothing happens.

But, if I change the link to:

www.lifesbest.pt/pt/comunidade?option=co...al&view=registration

it works.

To try to understand where this error is coming from, I ran the Autotune. All green.

Can you spot what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Mario,
We're going to need a lot more details about what you've setup. When you say "a campaign on Facebook", what does that mean? Is it a Facebook ad campaign, social media posts, our Facebook Request feature, or something else? Somewhere in the campaign, I'm assuming you've set the URL that the user should go to when they visit your Canvas area.

If there's something specific that makes you think JFBConnect is the cause, those details would help as well. From what I can see, all the links you show are for EasySocial, so I'm not sure what we can do to fix those links.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Ok, I also contacted StackIdeas team, will check with them.

The campaign on Facebook was meant to promote registration by clicking the "Sign Up" Facebook page button. So far, no noticeable results. Dropped it for the time being.

Best regards

Sounds good. Definitely let us know what you find out. I'm not saying that JFBConnect isn't the cause or not related to the issue, but I'd need to understand things a bit more to know how JFBConnect is related.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

StackIdeas has been supporting me in getting this issue solved. They reckon that EasySocial is not causing this redirect situation and I should get back to you.

So, would you please help me to get it right?

Best regards

We'll be glad to help further investigate. However, we'll need to understand things further as in our original response:

When you say "a campaign on Facebook", what does that mean? Is it a Facebook ad campaign, social media posts, our Facebook Request feature, or something else? Somewhere in the campaign, I'm assuming you've set the URL that the user should go to when they visit your Canvas area.

Can you give us any details about what you've setup or how the users are reaching that incorrect registration URL? Is that the only issue.. users are going to the wrong URL?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Please forget about the Facebook campaign, my mistake to mention it!

Here is the situation:

An invitation was sent using my site's invite friend on Facebook button. The FB popup to choose the user opens and the invitation is sent. The invitation appeared on the facebook account. The FB link back to register on my site is:

apps.facebook.com/comunidade-lifesbest/?..._id=1462026992585865

When I click on that link on Facebook, my site goes that a page with the following link:

www.lifesbest.pt/pt/?option=com_easysocial&view=registration

and the user is redirected to a blank screen.

But, if I change the link to:

www.lifesbest.pt/pt/comunidade?option=co...al&view=registration

it works.

I think that the link is redirecting to the page, lifesbest.pt/pt/ instead of lifesbest.pt/pt/comunidade , which is where the registration page is.

Can you spot what am I doing wrong? (You may follow the links, it will explain you this situation much better).

Thanks in advance

The one bit of information I'm missing now is how I send the invitation. Can you tell me what URL I can test that from? Also, let me know if I need to be logged in or anything specific to test.

I'm assuming you're using the Facebook Requests feature in JFBConnect as well, correct?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Yes, you will need to login to test it. As you are already registered, it should work just fine. Your user is alex.sourcecoast

The invitation was sent using the Facebook Requests feature in JFBConnect. On site (menu - Rede Social) is first button on top left.

In case you need to login on the backend, please let me know!

Hope all goes well! :D
