Topic-icon EasySocial - Registration by invitation only

Hi,

I am integrating JFBConnect with EasySocial. I am also using the InviteX module.

What I am trying to achieve is:

A user sends an invitation from the website through Facebook, email, sms etc. and when he clicks the link provided he is taken to the registration page. In case the invitation is done to Facebook, the registration page is automatically filled with all available Facebook info.

Does anyone done this before? If so, how was it achieved?

Best regards

With JFBConnect, you can setup the Facebook Requests feature . That will allow your users to send invitations to their friends and you can define the page the guests will go to as the registration page. Please see the documentation above for the setup, and limitations, of the Requests feature though as Facebook changed how it could be used last year and it's not as effective as it once was.

If you do setup an invitation though, when the user visits your site, you won't be able to get their profile information automatically. They would still need to go through the authentication process by clicking the Facebook Login button on your site. That's the only way for Facebook to know the user wants to share their profile data with your website.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks a lot for your explanation. I will try to implement your answer. Hope this works as I have been working so hard on this and yet didn't get it as I needed.

I hope it does too. As noted, Facebook reduced the abilities of their invitation feature last year, but it still can be used to let users of your site send a pre-formatted message to their friends to join. Once the guests visits though, you won't have any details about them until they choose to register on the site.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I implemented it according to your explanation and asked the people invited if they had received any invitation. I suppose I did some mistake on setting this up as they say they didn't.

So, I am checking all my yesterday work to see if I can come up with right solution.

I also took a look at the Portuguese translation, looks pretty good and I will use it as it is.

Best regards

In the Requests area of JFBConnect, does it show that the requests were sent?

If you send one to yourself, can you try going to the below URL to see if the invite appears:
www.facebook.com/games/activity

Let us know if you still can't see it. If not, let us know the page you have the Requests setup on on your site and we'll gladly test.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Yes, in the Requests area of JFBConnect, it shows the requests sent, as pic attached.

Also attaching all Facebook app details.

I was able to insert the website on another facebook page, www.facebook.com/estorilsmoothjazzfest/a...4/?ref=page_internal

The app Facebook page is empty apps.facebook.com/lifesbest/?fb_source=search&ref=br_tf

If you want to check my website backend, let me know where to send the credentials to.

Much appreciated for all your tips,

Mário

Hi Alex,

About the requests I´ve sent, they do not appear in www.facebook.com/games/activity as pic attached.

Just realized the other pics were not inserted on previous post so I am attaching them now.

From what I see, you've got it all going. Let me know if you're still not seeing the right behavior or what I see.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

In-between I understood there was a wrong option in Facebook, I was only inviting myself! Quite dumb of me! Suppose its working now!

Did you check my app Facebook options, is it ok? Should I change anything on the settings to make ir even better?
